Frankie Knuckles Tribute Mix | The Godfather of House Music

A tribute to Frankie Knuckles—the Godfather of House Music and one of the architects of modern dance music.
From his groundbreaking residency at Chicago’s legendary Warehouse to his productions, Def Mix remixes, and later Director’s Cut partnership with Eric Kupper, Frankie created house music with soul, patience, and emotional weight. His records weren’t simply made to fill dance floors—they were designed to take dancers somewhere.
This mix travels across several chapters of that legacy: the gospel power of Sounds of Blackness and Candi Staton, elegant reworks of Michael Jackson and Diana Ross, the deep emotion of “Rain Falls,” early Chicago history with Jago and the unmistakable classics “Baby Wants to Ride,” “Your Love” and “The Whistle Song.”
Frankie Knuckles became the first recipient of the Grammy Award for Remixer of the Year, Non-Classical. His influence continues through every soulful chord, extended breakdown, and emotionally driven house record that followed.
Long live Frankie Knuckles. The music never stopped.
