"I don't wanna talk myself out of a job"

My boy you talked yourself out of LIVING

WALTER WHITE MADE THIS IN A RV!!!  WITH A BUNCH OF TUBES !!!

Showing that box cutter was nice foreshadowing

Gale talks himself into getting killed

"A cook doesn't wear shorts."

-Carmine Lupertazzi

"You and your humility and your curiosity! You just had to be the assistant. If you'd done your job, known your place, we'd all be fine right now!"

All while Lalo and Howard were listening

“Gale, listen. When I speak about professionalism, I am talking about the decorum and stability required for this business, not scientific ability. That is more important to me for this role. In this lab, that three percent may seem like a huge gulf, but practically, it is negligible. See you in two weeks.”

Gale couldn't realize that he was working in an illegal drug lab. He acted like he was working for some chemistry research centre and would win noble prize for pureness.

Gale didn't understand that egos and arrogance still come into play regardless of someone's skill.

Gale couldn’t take yes for a answer

For frame of reference, you shouldn't be comparing 96% to 99% based on the raw percentage of purity. Instead, think of it as cutting the impurity of the final product by 75% (4% impurities vs <1%).

By that measure, the gulf between a 99% product and a 96% product is equivalent to the difference between a 96% product and an 84% product. That could very, very roughly be given as a number for the cartel cook in the Mexican superlab when Jesse is brought south. Or, more significantly, between an 84% product and a 36% product.

Think of the hard work to jump from a 36% street cook to an 84% product by the cartel chemist. Massive. Then, do that jump again to give you the 96% product that Gale can cook. Walter's Blue Sky is that level jump AGAIN beyond what Gale can synthesize.

This is the day gale talked himself into getting killed.

A rare case of a man destroyed by honesty and humility

I always thought it was so weird how he shows up to cook meth for the cartel giddy like a fresh college graduate in their first job

Well he got the best. The very best amateur criminal and psycho genius who couldn't accept that somebody will make decisions for him.

You cut off the best part when gus grabs him on the shoulder and tells gale that he better start breaking bad, soon. A subtle nod to the title. Bravo vince!

And THAT is the lesson you get from this ??? 😳

No it was Gus KNEW FROM THE START that Walt was  BAD NEWS.
the tragedy is he got talked into ignoring his first intuition.

96% is way beyond any of the other products on the market apart from Walt's, so if he's not cooking then they're #1 by far and without them he's not cooking on that scale, so it shouldn't have really been an issue

Everyone assumes this is Walt's meth, but it's actually Jesse's. It was The Chili P brought it up over 99%
