Need to push the 130s tsx harder.  They thrive at higher velocity

Good show

I put a limb saver recoil pad on my Tikka and it really made a difference.

Barnes coppers have been jump sensitive in all 5 guns I have loaded them in.  With a 35 thousandths jump working best in 1, 50 thousandths in 2, 100 in 1, and 85(this one was a real pain) in 1.  If you haven't moved on from this setup, load at 50, 75, 100, 125, and 150.  If 2 lengths are equal, but not good enougg for you, shoot the middle and see what happens.  After tuned, I have been very happy with 130 Barnes, but TTSX instead of TSX.

I look forward to the free floating and bedding you have planned.
When you get back to shooting this rifle try the following with some range rounds:

A Change in Grip Technique
Since the rifle is light, bring your right hand thumb up-and-over to the left of the stock with light to medium grip tension. This may offer better control through recoil.  Be mindful of wrist twist through trigger squeeze.

Also try thumb up along the centerline of stock.

As a lightish 30-06 hunting rifle the benchrest grip technique may not be working for you. You can always go back to it if you choose to.

Enjoy your day.

N150 and run it hard, free float. 6.5-06AI is a beast. You'll love it.

I have watched other videos in 30=06 and that bullet. The. Guy saw in a forum that sId Tac powder works great for speed and accuracy.

52 grains of 4350 under a 165 nosler is my pet load.

From my experience copper bullets like to jump  a lot, I normally start at .050 and longer

Speaking of different powders I've recently found ramshot powders to be accurate and affordable. I've shot the X-terminator in 6.5 grendel for years but Tac in 308 and 30-06 is really good too. Just throwing that out there. I do love your videos through the years. Hope you have a great day

I've had similar problems . My 06 just does not like copper bullets. I bought a box of 180gr Cor Loct and low and behold it shot those under 1 inch at 100 yds.

Should consider using the H4895 60% rule, if you’re really looking to reduce the loads.

I am at 3350 with those in my FN Mauser 98 and just under one MOA ..... I found they are more accurate with a bit of jump and in the hotter side of the spectrum.

Thank you for the video.  I had a similar experience with a Remington Custom Shop 700 in 30-06.  It would not group.  I got it just before Remington was sold off.  Anyway, I am getting the action blueprinted and installing a Bartlein carbon fiber barrel.  I wish you all the best with your 30-06.  A fantastic cartridge!

A simple check on bedding, take a small piece of a credit card inserted at the front of the action to lift the barrel away from the stock
It could also be that load isn't compatible with that rife. If your set on the bullet and powder, try the bedding first. Then try five s 16:27 hot groups from a starting load to max, at half grain increments. Could be the barrel doesn't like the bullet. Just some thoughts on problem solving. Short cuts seldom lead to a quick solution. Good luck, fun project.

I have also experimented with light 06 loads using the 150 flat base interlock. I haf very good luck with H4895 for my 12 year old son. Varget in my experience does not shoot very well in low pressure applications.

This will be a good trip. I would keep the barrel for now and do the prescribed process mentioned. I look forward to seeing results before the barrel is abandoned. Though not impressive results this is minute of deer at 250 yards & under. Thanks.

My Dad would supervise my brothers and me handloading until the later 70's.  Dad's reloading manual was the Lyman 2nd edition and in 1982 I purchased the newest Lyman reloading manual for myself.  Here is my question - they emphasized never using less powder than the minimum load. They claimed it could increase the pressure to unsafe levels.  I haven't handloaded in decades; has that warning been debunked ?   Dad let me shoot his 06, it had a hard buttplate and the length of pull was suited for his long arms - that rifle would be uncomfortable to shoot after 25 rounds or so.  First time viewer - I like your style and presentation very much.

57gn will get you close on 3300fps. I have one .30/06 that likes 58gn. I have been using AR2208 which is VARGET since it was created in the late 80's.

Mornin young man!

Good stuff!

I am not a fan of these copper bullets. I simply don't need what they offer and many of my hunting calibers don't operate within velocities required for reliable expansion.

BUT.... This 130g .308 TTSX in 308+ cartritages for deer seems flat awesome!
My first use was to "use these up" in a Handi rifle I cut a rim to allow 307Winchester. (I like Rims in my Handis) I took one deer and my buddies boy three more. These bullets of coarse went thru and thru all ran but didn't go far.
I find copper projectiles never kill as quick or decisively unless spinal/electrical impacts happen. IMHO its because of shrapnel. Copper has none.

Im starting another video series on my new 30/06 Classic stainless.
