Can-Am battle for the win | 2026 Bruce McLaren Trophy Full Race | 83MM

Goodwood Road & Racing

The Bruce McLaren Trophy is the fastest race of the weekend. The unhinged era of Can-Am features heavily in this race and the lead battle was an all Lola T70 affair. Goodwood really is the only place to see machines like this really pushing for a win. The V8 orchestra is something the 83MM crowds will never forget.

Whoever decided to install that rearward camera on that car I thank you and salute you.

Can almost smell the gas through those carb trumpets. Wonderful shot.

That rear facing shot with the fuel spray 🔥

I'm 75 years. Race fan forever. Can Am was the best racing ever. Puts F1 to shame.

Commentators need to give us some moments of silence to soak up the noise of these cars

Three really humble interviews on the podium. Skill without overwhelming ego is a great thing.

For those who may be confused as to the reason for the safety car. There was a massive crash that pretty much destroyed two cars. Goodwood has edited out, for some reason.

Way better than 2026 F1 races, really enjoyable racing.

I was a kid watching these cars at R.I.R.

This is motorsport at its finest. Wonderful cars, fierce battles and great sound. I don't even want to start with the "everything was better in the old days" argument, but somehow... Just compare these pictures (and the sound) with modern racing series.

Proper cars and proper racing. So much better than the boring F1 of today. Cars I those days had so much character.

Forgive me, but that is not fuel mist showing over the carburetors at full throttle. Nothing is coming out. Air is rushing in and that is the moisture in the air condensing in the lowered air pressure as it is sucked into the trumpets. You see the same cloud forming phenomena on F1 car wings at speed in high humidity conditions.

You can see exactly why closed intake systems were the future.

"Last of the big V8s, eh, Max!?! It's a piece of history!!"

It would be nice if they talked about ALL the Cars in the Race before it started then occasionally mention the Car when talking about the Driver. That's what made all racing interesting .
