📖 Synopsis: Meet Samuel (Sam), a likable but extremely irresponsible young man, who managed the "performance" of completely demoralizing his uncle's firm in just three months and one week! The final straw comes on an ordinary day, when his uncle finds a stranger asleep and snoring loudly in the armchair in his office. The stranger is Hash Tod Hunter, a former cook on a cargo ship, whom Sam has invited to visit.

In addition to this blunder, his uncle reproaches him for catching him kissing the stenographer (Sam excusing that the girl had a "toothache") and that his work is a disgrace. Desperate to get rid of him, although he cares about him, his uncle decides to fire him on the spot. But he doesn't simply throw him out into the street, but has already prepared a plan for him: he will send him to England, on the ship Mauritania, alongside Lord Tilbury, the owner of the large "Mammoth" press trust in London. Although Sam is not at all good at newspapers, this is where a whole series of funny complications and adventures begin, sprinkled with a false inheritance, romance and humor of the highest quality!

✍️ About the Author: Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse (1881 – 1975) was one of the greatest and most widely read humorists of the 20th century. The father of the famous literary couple Jeeves and Wooster, Wodehouse is famous for the mastery with which he manipulates the English language, but also for his twisted plots and eccentric characters (confused aristocrats, tyrannical aunts and young lovers who always get into trouble). His works always guarantee good mood and impeccable situation comedy.
