MGA makes great dolls but they struggle with storylines. It was so evident with Rainbow High and now Mirror Mi. Mattel does a good story, usually, like with Monster High and Ever After High.

Yes, Kumi and Fianna are fan favorites, along with Dana, Meygan, Nevra and Felicia. They have all been in many iconic lines. As well as the twins Phoebe and Roxxi, also very popular. I should mention Kiana too, even though she's only been in one line, but still very memorable. Which are your favorites?

I'm definitely sure that MGA released mini Mirror Mi as a competitor to Zuru Minnee. And you can't convince me that Mirror Mi line isn't a competitor to Moonspell Magic, it's even in the names - if shorted, it's MM and MM, it can't be a coinsidence.

It's still marvelous to see the mirror mi dolls be played by real life actresses or have their outfits be worn by real people, it gives the dolls more character and makes me appreciate their looks more

I work with a motion graphics designer. Ai story boarding is sent do her these days at the start or the project. She doesn't use them, but clients will send there them to help her understand what they want. That's seems to be how AI is used at the moment - not by the designers, but by the clients. Ai is just replacing the written instructions. That's how my company works anyway, but I'm just suggesting that AI isn't necessarily involved in the design, but in the instructions for the designers.

I dont know... Sanrio has a pretty controversial story when it comes to dark skin characters, and MGA while is more inclusive... they lead more into that racially ambiguous tropes. So if you ask me I genuinely think they deliberately exclude Sasha not thinking on how the community would react. Cause if they were being smart why choose 3 character out of the 4? And not 2 and then 2 for the next lineup

It would be great to see Phoebe as My Melody and Roxxi as Kuromi in the future 💖

Fianna and Kumi look gorgeous,my only problem is kumi's purple eyes.I know it's not a big deal for others, but because she has purple eyes, she looks like other characters with purple eyes like Kina from Passion 4 Fashion or Nora from Flower Girlz...but she looks more identical to Kina. She originally has brown eyes like Jade, but a paler skin, but herr she has Jade's skin... If they added a beautymark above her lip...that's instantly Sharidan.

I really hate AI usage in doll lines, but I wouldn't be surprised if every doll company is guilty of using it at this point, even if it is something that I intensely disagree with. And with the Mirror Mi Mini Mis, all I see is MGA making a line heavily inspired by Nendroid Dolls on a much cheaper budget, especially with the plastic hair, extra articulation, and 4" size, even if their release time is closer to the Zuru Minnee line. I think that the Mini Mis are meant to represent personifications of the characters' emotions as well. With the Bratz Kumi doll, I definitely love the blue highlights in her hair and kind of want to get her at some point.🖤💜

I have a theory that the entire concept of MirrorMi was ai generated because it’s extremely poorly thought-out and not even MGA seems to understand what they’re doing with it

I love the main Mirror Mi dolls, but I don’t like the Mini Mi dolls at all. Doesn’t matter to me if they used AI or not because I dislike them regardless. However, I wonder if other Mini Mi haters are making up the AI allegations just to make a justifiable excuse to dislike them. That’s not necessary though! It’s okay to dislike something just to dislike it and not for any greater or moral reason. I’m obviously against generative AI, but humans are still capable of making bad art, too. I hate that we now live in a world in which we must question whether anything creative was made by humans or not.
