The Silithis plotline is one of the best in vanilla WoW, especially for the Horde since they get to encounter them as early as the Barrens, when they just seem like another random quest that then builds up over several zones as the true extend of the threat becomes clearer.

The reveal of Ahn-Qiraj was SUCH a huge moment back in the day, I remember seeing the architecture, learning the lore, seeing the tier sets, the whole community effort.

"But those are tales for another day" Nooooo! This is one of the few channels where I immediately crave more after finishing a video.

I like the silithid because it shows wow wasnt just a burning legion invasion, 10000 years of absolutely nothing, then present day. They should have filled more gaps with stuff like the Shifting Sands

"Hadoken Swiftstrider" definitely a street fighter reference

> where could they be coming from?

the classic wow story telling its so good and so inmersive ... i always think of the Zerg Swarm when visiting Silithus

This is why I love Silithus and AQ40 is my favorite vanilla raid. So much story build up during the leveling process and the payoff is going toe-to-toe with an old god.

I thought the whole time the field of giants was for the thunderhead lizards.

Your passion and delivery is what makes these so good!

45 feels more like halfway on the leveling journey.

I can express how happy your every video makes me. Thanks man 🙏

The crabs in the Barrens I always assumed were simply placeholder models before they had made the proper silithid models but maybe forgot to replace them. There's plenty stuff like that in Classic, like the Gnolls in Mulgore using Ghoul voicelines instead of the usual Gnoll ones.

Otherwise, love the videos! They're always so neat to listen to.

This plot thread is a masterclass in storytelling. You assist various, unrelated NPCs in dealing with the threat, which makes the problem feel widespread and menacing, and the hives grow larger the closer you get to the source (Silithus). The lack of a creature type for the bugs is also a nice, and probably deliberate, touch.

my weekend just got instantly better ❤

The AQ sound track slowly getting louder as she reveals the silithids true danger is cinema

Your videos especially longer ones are my favorite notification on YouTube, I hope you continue to make them

i'm a simple man. i see jediwarlock, i click

I think the field of giants is named for the herds of kodo and thunder lizards that inhabit it, no? Especially since the silithid emergence there is implied to be fairly recent. That said, I really love the silithid throughline in classic. All the scattered nests and quests to investigate the unusually aggressive expansion and unusually orderly movements of these strange insects does a better job setting them up as an intimidating global threat than maybe any other endgame threat in wow since. Not to get to nerdy on a wow video (lol) but it always sort of reminded me of creeping unease of the Phyrexia pre-plot in MTG.

I’ll always be impressed how you’re able to capture the mystery, adventure, and storytelling of the Classic era world in your videos. This goes up there with the Teldrassil one for me.
