Bad Girl is just on another level, there's simply no other way of putting it.

Love you included This Used To Be My Playground, it only came out 3 or 4 months before Erotica so even though it wasnt on the album, its 1992 and kinda belongs here so i am glad you watched that too. Was a #1 hit in the US btw

When the Rain video came out in 1993 it looked so futuristic and ahead of its time, it was quite the marvel to look at and absorb its sleek aesthetic.

The excitement I felt when seeing Beth next to madonna on the thumbnail

Girlie Show is amazing, we have so much fun with you on this Madonna journey. Her artistry is the gift that keeps on giving!

Bad Girl and Rain are my favorite music video from this era. Bad Girl is so iconic and cinematic

Erotica was a teaser for the book.

Never came to a video so fast. Your Madonna journey has been so incredible to watch! I ❤ your content!

I'll Remember is a transitional hit after Erotica & just before Bedtime Stories. Released in 1994, it hit No. 2 & features Madonna rocking a similar hair cut/look in her Rain video.

I was shocked! In the United States, it reached number 36, becoming Madonna's first single to not reach the top 30 or top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, breaking a streak of 27 consecutive top 20 singles that began with "Holiday" (1983) and ended with "Deeper and Deeper" (1992).

Madonna’s videos were never meant to just “explain” the lyrics. They’re artistic and cultural experiences that go beyond the visual, filled with references to cinema, fashion, philosophy, and underground culture. That’s why they can feel complex or hard to decode at first.

For example, Deeper and Deeper isn’t only about desire—it takes you into the underground club world inspired by Andy Warhol, mixing glamour with danger and obsession. Meanwhile, Erotica was a bold statement on sexual freedom, breaking taboos by openly showing fetish, S&M, and bisexuality at a time when censorship was still very strong.

This is what made her not only the Queen of Pop but also the Queen of the music video in the ’80s and ’90s: every release was a complete experience that sparked conversation and pushed you to look for deeper meanings. In fact, Bedtime Story is part of the permanent collection at MoMA as a piece of contemporary art.

That’s the magic—these weren’t just music videos, they were works of art that changed pop culture forever.

I just can't explain how much I love the Rain music and video. It gives me goosebumps everytime I see it

I went through her entire music video collection last year and as a goth, Erotica is something truly magnificent in it's subversive depravity and ominous delivery. Certainly not for everyone but that video achieves it's narrative so clearly and viscerally. 👹💖

A song reaction video to the thumping, dramatic , EPIC dance stomper RESCUE ME would be ultra cool! You’ll be preaching and bopping in your bedroom! Believe in the power!!!

I turned 18, moved out on my own, came out and went to my first (under 18) gay club.

At that time, a couple of her songs were in rotation for the DJ but not on the radio.  Most people had never heard of her.

Then she blew up.

And she’s been a significant part of my life ever since.

But I was nothing like the fans I saw on TV.

I liked her music.   She made anthems.  And I danced my ass off to them.    Dance floors packed when her songs came on.    They could change the mood of a crowd in seconds.

Now,  I’m older and experiencing her music from the perspectives of people who know her name but maybe not much more.

I respect your opinions, even the ones I didn’t agree with.  Because there were a few times that my initial reaction to some of her songs, videos, looks, etc., was not positive.

But now…I feel like every one of them was artistically exceptional.

Nearly every video has deep symbolisms or cultural Easter eggs.    She’s paid homage to so many artists, cultures, etc., in her videos.

I love the looks in Fever, especially the silver.

What  I love about Rain is the contrast between her sensuality and the sleek modernity of everything else.    I don’t think anyone knows more about good camera lighting than Madonna herself.   She wanted you to see and contrast how she looked in different lighting.

But also….this video shows just how talented she at movement.   That’s not choreography, which she is excellent at.   That’s just her doing multiple takes of her moving to the music.     She is amazingly expressive and just an unbelievable visual artist.

This Used to be My Playground is a soundtrack song for the movie A League Of Their Own starring Tom Hank, Geena Davis, Rosie O’Donnell and Madonna. And as you mentioned it’s on her ballads album Something To Remember.

Love your Madonna reactions, so glad to find music reactors that listen to Madonna 🔥👑🪩

If you look other videos from 1993. and Madonna's Rain video which is from 1993. too, you'll see the difference and how light years ahead was this  estethicaly, productionaly and visualy. This is so futuristic and advanced in quality compared to other stuff from early 90s

The guy in the "Deeper and Deeper" video is Udo Kier - a German actor who've been in many movies especially arthouse and independent.

Whenever I play this album people are always shocked, they thought they knew what Madonna was but they had no idea she was groovy like this. She’s a vibe bringer.
