Some people actually laugh when I share that people who are in law enforcement as well as the military have the highest rates of DV of all relationships. Never EVER date people in those careers but also never live in the same house with partners, never get legally married, and always have child custody papers drawn up and ready to go so the moment that baby is born your lawyer can give them on y'all's behalf
Wait a minute so because she's an NYPD she gets an offer for 4 years but if it was a regular person hiring somebody to kill their partner and fake the death to convince the courts that that was the intent you really think they're going to get 4 years I don't think so only law enforcement protects each other by giving them the less time this is crazy
When I was a late teen and in my early 20s, I was a knockout. I was fit, personable, intelligent, a natural life of the party without drinking etc. And yet I was HORRIBLY insecure when I dated. I remember throwing a fit - during church (not publicly), because my boyfriend said hello to his ex girlfriend as we walked in.
Outside I was a catch and inside I was a traumatized, broken soul. I have since apologized (I am now nearly 40) but to think of how absolutely insecure I was back then- not only was I an awful girlfriend, I dated awful men because I had no standards.
I am so embarrassed. But I am so glad I grew.
