There is also this for DC Comics that Vixen could channel the somewhat flight ability of a hawk, and that on theory Green Lantern could generate a sphere around himself to make wings and thusly could look like a green winged Angel of sorts.  The ring makes things based on sheer will.

I prefer Sam Wilson's early version as Falcon. Just like in the original The Ultimates comic series, his costume is more down-to-earth, tactical, and utilitarian. Not a bright, circus mascot-like one. The same goes for Michael Keaton as Vulture. His costume makes sense and cool!
