This morning, we’re exploring one of the most peaceful and beautiful corners of the Bodrum Peninsula: Gumusluk.

Our walk begins around 10:30 AM, just as the village is slowly coming to life. Shops are opening their doors, seaside restaurants are preparing for the day, and a few people are enjoying breakfast at quiet cafés overlooking the Aegean Sea.

As we walk along the waterfront, Gumusluk feels like a little piece of paradise. The calm sea, colorful flowers, whitewashed buildings, cats and dogs wandering around the streets, and the peaceful rhythm of the morning create an atmosphere far removed from the crowded holiday resorts.

But beneath this peaceful scenery lies thousands of years of history.

In front of one of the seaside restaurants, we reach the famous King’s Road, an ancient path associated with the historic city of Myndos. A local restaurant owner steps into the sea and shows us where the road continues beneath the water, while explaining the story of the King’s Road and the ancient city that once stood here.

It’s a fascinating moment where the beauty of modern Gumusluk meets the remains of its ancient past, hidden just beneath the clear waters of the Aegean.

Our peaceful walk then continues along the coastline, passing seaside restaurants, cafés, small shops, flowers and local animals. We even stop for a close-up look at a tiny bee collecting pollen from a flower, one of those small moments that perfectly captures the quiet nature of this beautiful place.

From breakfast beside the sea and peaceful village streets to an ancient road beneath the water, this walking tour captures what makes Gumusluk such a unique corner of Bodrum.
