During my military service, I fired the FAMAS F1 many times; it was an excellent rifle : accurate, compact, ergonomic, easy to disassemble and reassemble

Talking about AKM with a picture of an AK-74 after explaining the differences

I know the FAMAS from Metal Gear Solid 1, used by the enemy soldiers. It was the first rifle i came to recognise.

Famas worst? Acording to a certain youtuber called Ian from forgotten weapons, it is the best delay blow-back close bolt one. It also serve well for 50 years many wars without problems.

Oddly, the more important upgrade on the M16A1 is the modification of the ejection port to throw the  shell casing away from the rifle instead of straight back into the face of the shooter.  A simple wedge reduced jamming.

FAMAS and many other "unknown" guns was known very well by older players in game called "Jagged Alliance" (turn-bssed strategy, highly recommended).

0:27 Bro has a really LONG arm

Ar-70/90 also have a unique feature which allows to reduce its own weight by pressing a simple button. it was made for ceremonies in order to make it easier to handle for long times during institutional ceremonies

If you have to install a mechanism to close the bolt manually afterwards… tells you everything 😮

Really interesting breakdown. I didn’t realize how much each assault rifle differs in design, operating system, reliability, and intended role. The comparisons make it much easier to understand why certain rifles became so iconic.

4:03 the HK416 is actually more related to the AR18 than the M16.

5 years in the FFL and I can tell you that the Famas was an excellent rifle.
I’m lefty and it was so easy to switch and use it as a grenade launcher too.
Sadly changed by the HK 416 because it was too costly for France.

Famas is very simple to disassemble and clean . And even with my poor aiming skill I always touched the target at 300 m  when gun was correctly set up . Has to be said

Nice job! But I'ill complete the infos about FAMAS : It can be left and right handed, with only minor modifications, and it can be used to launch grenades also... As everything done in french army, the goal is to be operational in the most possible situation, such as rafale and else! I found out it is a great rifle, even if I love M4 plateform!

Good intro to these, thanks!

USMC 76-96.  The M16 A1 was a PITA to change the sights. I gave up on that and just changed my aiming point. The A1 was not considered fully automatic even though it was and we were allowed to transport it in our personal cars to and from the rifle range. When the A2 came out it was considered fully automatic even though it only had a the 3 round burst or single shot and we were not allowed to transport it in our personal cars. The sights were easy to change. Never got to fire the M4 so I can't speak on it

FAMAS is actually one of the most easiest to assemble/disassemble. And can quickly be switched from right-handed mode to left-handed quickly (which is quite nice thing if your dominant eye is left).

The M16 is SO beautifully designed (the look!)

Steyr-Aug is somehow strange, but amazing, love that AR

8:54 7.92x33mm curse lmao
