1 Peter 3: 8.Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: 9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing. 10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

King James Version (KJV) 1 Corinthians 12:28 โAnd God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues 1 Corinthians 12:30 โHave all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?โ
I was looking for some confirmation that the letters of Paul are "inspired." The scripture given by God rises from the glory of the fulness of Almighty God dwelling in our blood. Now, what we know of Paul's calling comes from Paull himself. No doubt he is a great teacher. He says that women must be silent in the church, and that this is a law of God. It is here that Paul says he speaks for God?
Why couldn't both writings be right for certain scenarios? Didn't tongues show the power of God to unbelievers when the Spirit fell on them and they spoke in many different languages?
The passages that the Pastor was talking about 1 Corinthians 14:22-25, is explained not by J.D.Phillips changing the sentence, but by another wonderful scholar Dr. John McKay in the 'Way of The Spirit' course. Dr McKay taught the clue is in the word 'sign'. The people coming in whose hearts are laid bare you know are believers, whereas those who think it's nonsense is a 'sign' to the church that they're unbelievers These are remarkably good videos, considering they are so old. beautiful clear sound and picture.
