I love open concept…have lived in both types…it’s nice to be part of the family while working in the kitchen…my opinion

I, personally, dislike fashion applied to homes. Most people don’t have thousands of dollars lying around to spend chasing trends.

To each his own I suppose. Every open concept living space I saw looked great to me.

Who cares if someone doesn't like your home. They can go buy something else😂. Live your life decorate with what you like. The stuff leaves with you when you move.

My husband wanted a barn door …I said no - we don’t live on a farm.  Then he wanted the TV on our beautiful stone fireplace wall…I said no.  On most things we agree but sometimes you have to make unilateral decisions!😅. I do love him!❤

Ironically I always liked seperate rooms. And grey at night is  depressing

I don't see any reason to worry about a sectional sofa or a gallery wall. I'm not buying furniture or pictures I'm buying the house.

My downstairs is semi open. I like it. I have swivel chairs in front of my TV that I can swivel to face either the sofa or the dining area.

I actually love my open space home

Barn doors are fabulous………in barns!

Overdone gallery walls are one of my pet peeves. It's visually overwhelming. Too busy.

Ever hear about wing backed chairs?  You know, a place where you can actually rest your head?  The only thing better than that is a Queen Anne recliner, where you can rest your head and put up your feet.

Hey people decorate to live in, not to sell, then do what you like.

I hate the tv over the fireplace. Glad i do not have it.  Glad i do not have a open plan. Love my early 90s place - when i moved in i redid the bathroom, kitchen, all flooring and pain, retiled the fore place. Now it is like a new home with big rooms and a lot of windows. It has a large entry area and plenty if storage space and huge closets.

We have a sliding door into the master bath from the bedroom. It’s not a barn door but the only option because of the opening. Why don’t the pictures coordinate with the narrative?

This depends much on country/culture. Here in Trinidad,  we build or buy forever homes. When we buy or build a home, we think of it in terms of forever, the home we'll leave for our children/grandchildren. It's not unusual to know of families living in the same home for 30, 40, even 70 years.

Farmhouse decor has always been a big joke as far as I am concerned.   I lived on a farm in my youth, and nowhere, from my home to any neighbors and friends houses was there anything remotely resembling this modern made up supposed farmhouse style.

Lol what tv? Maybe that's why the fam loved our open great room. We had a 12in b&w in a corner to get news & weather. We didn't live for the tube.

Just paint the whole place in Martha Stewart beige
