IU’s handwritten two-page note introducing "Love Wins All" begins with the line, “Some say that we are living in an age of overwhelming hatred.” However, the majority of her explanation is filled with love for her fans, making it clear that this song is a 'fan song' dedicated to them. The overall message is that no matter how fierce hatred becomes, love will eventually win, and it is about how the fans and the artist can endure and move forward together through their mutual love.

This message is conveyed even more clearly through the music video, where each element carries such deep symbolism. The girl who cannot speak represents a singer who has lost her voice, and the boy who is blind in one eye represents a fan. The Cube symbolizes the frame of hatred, the pile of clothing represents the many wounded victims, and the camcorder reflects the beautiful perspective through which the artist and fan see one another.

Since the music video itself is like a five-minute mini-film, it really helps in understanding the song's narrative and message. More than anything, the scene where the singer senses it is the final moment and gently covers the fan's working eye—that small act of consideration is just so heartbreaking every time I see it.

Just like IU’s message, I truly hope that love becomes the power that overcomes everything. Even if it isn’t IU, I hope you can cherish that beautiful heart you have for the artist you adore for a long, long time.

IU doesn’t box herself in any genre and her songs are diverse and she never stops trying something different and she doesn’t chase mainstream. I recommend for you to check out dingo killing voice where IU sings live on her songs in her 20’s in little samples and you can see that every songs are different genre and she loves to incorporate different sounds. IU is very serious and respects music and she always sings live and with her live bands. IU is one of the most genuine and kind hearted person I know!

Just wanted to say, someone in your stream said something about the guy in the studio not giving a fuck about her being sick, but that's not true at all. IU debuted 17 years ago. She has known him for 18 years. She's been working with him longer than anyone else. He just knows her capabilities that well and knows what she wants to do as an artist better than anyone. And she has complete faith in him as well. They are a team that's actually part of who IU, the vocalist is. If he stopped producing and mastering her albums, it would likely be a noticable change since they've always been in the studio together. And the reason that she is recording in this condition is because the release date was a set deadline for only a couple days after this recording was done. She had to record it then. They filmed the music video the two days before this which was when she got sick. Of course she's rich enough to just pay fees and push the deadline back, but she loves Uaena the most and doesn't want to disappoint, so she pushes herself. We love her for it, but we will would rather wait another year for an album than let her push herself like this. Ugh, it's rewarding but hard to be her fan sometimes. But wouldnt ever stop being Uaena. (I mean, I have several tattoos so I don't have much of a choice now. Lol)

Ella produce y compone sus canciones , es una gran persona y gran artista

There is no one like IU, she is a truly amazing singer songwriter.

I discovered IU thanks to BTS... She's a true friend of the group because they share the same work ethic and somewhat similar circumstances at the start of their careers... starting from nothing and reaching the top!! She has a show called "IU Palette" where she's hosted BTS members and collaborated with V and Suga... She's the princess of Korea because of her talent and kindness!! Thank you for this reaction! 💜 This is a 70-year-old French ARMY!!

IU is shareholder of her label Edam, and also shareholder of the label's parent company Kakao Ent. Every decision (release date, song selection, album design, choice of producers etc) must go thru her approvals also.
So, the decision to go thru in her sick condition, is purely hers.

The production guy has been with her since beginning of her career, so he knew how hard headed she can be. Instead of pitying her, which wouldn't worked anw, he stayed focus and encouraged her with some jokes. Their jokes might sound sarcastic, cynical and dark, but if you follow IU for a long time, that's exactly the joking style of IU.

Iirc, she has very tight deadline to get the recording done, bcos every preparation already set and aligned, and also V must enlist in the military (iirc, they filmed the mv like several days just before he enlisted). So any delay in any stage will jeopardize the whole production chain, and she didn't want that to happen.

Welcome to the wonderful world of IU. There is NO ONE like her in the world today. In fact in 2022, Rolling Stone added her to their list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time.

She debuted in 2008 at the age of 15. She took control of her music in 2014.  She has more #1 hits in Korea than other soloist or group by a factor of 3.

In 2018, the agency She was with spun off a separate company called EDAM of which she owns a 25,% stake. In Korea, their aren't labels like their are in the States. They are Entertainment agencies which control and manage all aspects of their career from public appearances, acting in movies and Dramas, Tours, recordings etc. So her label would be EDAM.

She was the Producer of the recording and MV of Love Wins All.  The Dead lines were set by her to keep the schedule of releases for the the 6 songs and  5 MV's that provided the theme of her World Tour that started in March of 2024. There were 39 dates which included 6 dates in the US. She became the 1st pure KPop soloist to perform in the US. All 6 dates sold out in minutes.

She was Billboards #1 Global Artist last year. This year she was Time Mag KDrama actor of the year.

Besides being the most award winning singer in Korean history, she is also an award winning, Composer, song writer, Producer, Actress and model.

She has a lot of content on YouTube, including live performances,  concert clips, behind the scenes of recording sessions, bts of MV's, bts of concert prep, bts of actual concerts, blogs of concert travels, Her own YouTube show called Palette where she interviews other artist & features her and her guess singing one another's songs.

Her BTS of her concert prep really shows what type of person she is. As one reactor stated, she was born under a star. If there are angels among us IU is one of them.

She is an example of why koreans make most of us look like amateurs

nice reaction. just to say a few things someone may not know. obv her company has its role, but it's basically hers, from what I know she is a major share holder of edam so it's not like she has obligation from her company. the company itself was founded by an IU ex-manager with only her as a signed artist and only after some time they signed an actress (who now isnt in the company anymore) and WOODZ. all of this to say that she just works hard, her label obv takes care of several tasks but IU is not in a position to be controlled by her company.

Dude, thanks for trying out IU… like XG, her wide range of styles, tones and genres, including jazz, is not for everyone.  And she follows no one’s trend but her own inclination.  As people find this, you’ll get many recommendations of popular videos, but so much of her great singing (in Rolling Stones top 200 singers of all time) , are on B sides, or were not critically acclaimed at release.  I’ll recommend some interesting ones after you cycle through mainstream hits.

Her label, EDAM entertainment, is a subsidiary of Kakao entertainment, which is basically like Google or Amazon, in Korea. Like a huge powerful, company. But she's such a Queen that EDAM was literally created for her. She was the only artist under EDAM for a few years before the actress Shin Se-kyung joined for a few years before leaving amicably last year, and Woodz joined a couple years ago now. But she is definitely the labels main focus. Although they don't neglect their other artists, but she's IU. She's literally the most famous and richest Kpop artist in Korea. It used to be GD who was the richest, but she surpassed him in net worth during his hiatus.

My favorite artist of all time! She's made music spanning many styles and genres during her 17-year career so far. There's plenty of better technical vocalists in Kpop, but she's very special. She sings from her heart and soul, and her songs usually have deep meaning that connects with her listeners.

I love that you viewed  other videos about her. Thank you. She’s such a sweetheart to boot. She’s always nice to everyone and donates huge amounts to charities all the time. I love her. ❤

The filming of "Love Wins All" is also very interesting and once again highlights his professionalism!

The voice you hear in the recording studio is her co-producer, and they are extremely close. He was the producer at the company when she arrived as a trainee in middle school, and he said when he first heard her sing (as a 14 year old), he couldn’t believe his ears. He gave her a debut song that was too mature (lyrics) for a 15 year old (age when she debuted)…but you should hear her perform that song (Lost Child) again at her 10 year anniversary concert and crush it. IU has an entire team around her that hasn’t changed from her debut. Nobody leaves because she takes such good care of the staff with guaranteed contracts (very atypical in the industry). IU now has her own company, EDAM (her original manager is the CEO). She was the sole artist initially. Now they have another singer, Woodz, on the label.

IU is considered South Korea's "little sister" and is loved by the entire country. V (Kim Tae-hyun), of the super group BTS, filmed "Love Wins All" with IU a few days before departing for his obligatory service in the army. IU is a singer, producer, director, songwriter, and actress (Hotel del Luna is a favorite)...elite! Her backstory is one for the ages, too. Thanks for supporting IU and XG. I also recommend checking out NewJeans; if you haven't already. Try "Supernatural"....enjoy!

She is somethin special

This is her best song, imo, and this is one of the best MVs ever.

Try watching the episode of Killing Voice featuring IU — you’ll be able to get to know her songs through it.
