Welcome back to Southampton parkrun Rivals: Episode 7!
For those new to the channel, this is the series where I document the unspoken, accidental battles with unsuspecting fellow parkrunners. It’s a run, not a race… but when an accidental rival locks into view, all bets are off!
Today is extra special as I celebrate my 25th parkrun milestone! Instead of burning out chasing an all-out sub-25 PB today, I set out with a tactical negative-split game plan and three specific targets:
Downhill Charge: Target a new segment PB on the iconic "Southampton Common: Northside turnoff to Bellemoor (southbound)" segment (aiming to beat 4:30).
Fast Finish: A stronger, longer sprint finish to catch unsuspecting rivals.
Parkrun Fun: Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy milestone run number 25.
If you enjoyed coming along for the run, please hit Like and Subscribe to support the channel and follow the journey through Southampton Common and beyond.
Drop a comment below: Have you ever tackled the Bellemoor downhill segment, and what's your pacing strategy on Southampton Common?
