I graduated my youngest of 7 this year.  But my best friend died a year ago and her daughter has 1 more year til graduation.  I'm helping with that.  Today we picked out her senior year curriculum. Hard to believe I'm about done!  Total I homeschooled 24 years. ❤😊

l have been homeschooling for 36 years. l went from homeschooling my 9 children and overlapped into teaching my grandson who is special needs.

I used MasterBooks for  both Math and Language arts and those Colonial America Pocket books for my 6th grader (my grandson)  this year, also! We also did an Ancient Egypt  History Pocket as well! As a retired teacher,  I used the History Pockets  in my 4/5 classroom when I taught years ago, and my students had enjoyed it.  We also did Mystery for History 4- through our Co-op- which I would not suggest doing both things at the same time with that specific level book and the History Pockets!  Overwhelming!  So much to do! For science we created our own spiral Notebook with various  workbooks, especially Interactive Notebook to learn geology, oceanography, meteorology and astronomy.  I liked the idea of the nature journal- even if he is going into 7th grade this year. We loved MasterBooks. With the Language Arts, I mixed and matched other info with it. We LOVED The 10 Minute Journey.  I will use MasterBooks Math again next year, though I see it is pre-Algebra!

I started home schooling my son in March of this year. We are continuing homeschool for our first full year. Bullies were too much for my son, I do college online and stay at home already. After praying for about 7 months it was time to take the step. I am using Lamp and Light Homeschool Curriculum.  It is 100% Bible based and seems to fit in with put faith and goes through everything.

Playing Preschool was the most fun curriculum I’ve ever done with my kids. Might be something to look into!

I wanted to simplify our school year this year and I also ended up ordering Master Books! Good luck this year and keep us updated 😊

We have been homeschooling since after they took away remote learning after COVID. This will be our 5th year  homeschooling .My oldest didn't want to go back to public school. She liked remote learning because she got more help and the one on one help. My second child wanted to be home homeschool with his sister. He must have been in kindergarten last year and is doing 2nd grade math. Thank you for your video. I'm going to start looking at the index in the books. I'm happy I found your YouTube channel. Going into my first year of homeschooling this fall. In fact, the last of the curriculum is supposed to come in today 😁 we decided on Abeka since it’s what the private school my son attended used last year and it’s what I used when I taught at that same private school. I know somewhere along the line we will switch to Saxon math because I’ve heard Abeka math isn’t as challenging in the older years but I guess we will cross that bridge when we get there. Same here - we plan on taking it year by year. If I see my son isn’t being challenged or he isn’t thriving, we will change things up. If we feel he needs to head back to school, then we will send him back to school. It’s all a matter of prayer and wisdom to know if things need to change ❤

We absolutely love the Evan Moore books. We have found them to be a huge plus to our home schooling program. We have also found the Decodable Curriculum a big help for two of our dyslexic children. I am also dyslexic, so the teacher addition helps me present the subject in a way to help the kids learn. I love the curriculum you and Justin have chosen for your family. Here's to blessings and prayers for your 26-27 school year. Also, we have the same nature journals. We coupled that with the Microscope Safari, and the kids love it.

We are starting 7th year of homeschooling. My children will be in 8th and 10th grade. When we started we used a lot of BJU curriculum, as that(and Abeka) is what they were using in the private school they had been attending. Now we use BJU for high school Spanish and different resources for every other subject. We are truly eclectic. My favorite curriculum over the years has been Sonlight, and we still use it for literature/language arts. Homeschooling truly has blessed our family in more ways than I ever expected.

I am going to be in my last year of homeschooling this fall.  My son will be doing most classes thru local community college for dual credit, so I'm not really teaching any classes.   I will miss it so much as I've taught him since kindergarten. Going on our 13th year.  One quick suggestion, when you were talking about placement for math and language arts curriculum, is most offer free placement tests on their website.  They are easy to use and help you place your child where they need to be skill wise.    A few different thoughts -  my son loved doing the Rod & Staff workbooks when he was little.   I can't recommend them enough.  The last thought is about dvd's.  My son did a lot of what we called learning through osmosis ;)  I would put on educational dvds  or  youtube playlists on the tv a lot (he loved Signing Times with Rachel Coleman) and they would play in the background while he played on the living room rug.  You would be shocked at how much he picked up without ever being told to sit and watch the video.   We used Christian Light Education for the first 10 years  for reading, math, and language arts and it worked beautifully for us.

I started homeschooling 2 of my kids later in their lives. My oldest was always in public school. My youngest has been homeschooled from the beginning. I am thinking of using the online BJU Press for 5th grade math this upcoming year.

We love the Evan Moore pockets. We will use Moving West this year, too. I even get into making the pockets.
