Regarding the name - it was Uni-Lim for a while, until my wife pointed out that it sounds like an amputee :D It got shortened to Uni-L and it just stuck. So there you go :)

When you get to know the plugin, you can just build your own limiter, build clones of others with greater flexibility, etc. It's all in there :)

Great review as always. Crazy how good this latest wave of limiters is. I thought I was done with buying plugins but...  great companies like this one still manage to impress every single time.

Wow. "Damn!" was a perfect summary of the side-by-side comparison. The Uni-L had so much more air and life. Seems like it may be worth an ascent of what looks to be a steep (-ish?) learning curve.

Just got it yesterday! It is goood guys!

I'm back after trying and then buying the UNI-L.  It takes a bit of playing with to really understand the details of what this superb limiter can do.  I spent a few hours each day over a week to really get to know it, and I tried it with a wide range of premasters.  I dug up some old stuff first, but I ended up using it on a new project of seven new jazz tracks for an upcoming instrumental album called "Grooves."  I wanted a more modern sound, a bit louder than I would normally push jazz, but MAN OH MAN did it ever sound great in combo with my Bettermaker hardware. The engineer, producer and musicians are astounded.  Those Tone Project guys really know their stuff!  Cheers.

This format is excellent: a review and a tutorial combined. I'm gonna buy this one. It's alive!! It's breathing!!

Michelangelo plugin is absolutely amazing, it easily replaced 4-5 of my regular plugins. As far as limiters go, I wasn't sure if I even needed a new one since the L2 limiter worked fine. But I downloaded the demo, and damn, it's too good. It's not just a tiny bit better, it's a night and day difference. The dynamics/transients, and overall 'oomph' are just incredible!

I love the fact the presets auto adjust, amazing for a producer like me he doesn’t want to fiddle - same with bass lane pro. So happy with this limiter!

I enjoyed the fact you clearly didn't know what you were doing at the start (sorry not being mean here), but then you worked out how to get good results.  I also enjoyed the fact you were grumpy about it haha.  I wonder whether maybe you might be the guy who could do a really good tutorial on this once you've mastered it, because so far, other people's tutorials have not hit the spot for me!

I got a loyalty discount from Tone Projects which brought the plugin down to $119.20. Despite that I have all the limiters from Waves, all from Plugin Alliance (including LAAL), from iZotope, Oxford, Fabfilter, Flatline from Submission Audio, Slate Digital, SSL, CGII from Metric Halo, Weiss and Chandler from Softube...I bought this one too, and it became my favourite. Is more musical and it really keeps the transients when is pushed, were distortion appears earlier with the others. Awesome job from Tone Projects, no more limiters from now.

I understand mastering is supposed to be discreet, but this limiter had such a positive impact on that track. Glue in the right places, air and punch in others. Bonkers.
