I'm 58.  And this is still me.  My brother showed me this video and water'd up pretty quick.  Jon Hamm represents it perfectly.  I've always loved and listened to "new" music, but back in the day (the 80's mostly), I was a "new wave" kid growing up on the likes of 92.7 WLIR (NYC/Long Island).  I had a whole circle of clubs I would hit from Malibu's in Lido Beach on the south shore, to Webster Hall in the city.  I still dance like nobody is watching.  Like the meme you might have seen, I would go to work the next day on little to no sleep still wearing my wrist band (or my invisible UV hand stamp!).   I've lost a lot of friends over the years - maybe because we all had a bit too much fun. But that's the price.  I left NYC in 2008 after my first-hand experience in the south tower on 9/11.  I miss it all but I had to get out.  I mostly miss the club scene and the food.  Now I have one helluva recording studio up in NEPA, and this track sounds amazing when I get the windows rattling!  LOL.  Life is good.  It's just a bit slower and quieter.  But I can still dance!

There's something almost aspirational about Hamm's performance:
"For the next three minutes, I'm not solving anything."
I'm just fucking here.
And I think that's why the scene can hit particularly hard for me. There's a slight sadness underneath the joy. That's what makes the scene work. He's smiling, but it isn't childish happiness. It's more like relief.
And I think that distinction matters for me. But Hamm's character does something that a stereotypically "tough guy" isn't supposed to do.
He lets go, he doesn't care how he looks, he isn't performing masculinity for anybody in that moment. He's just a guy listening to music and feeling something. And ironically, that can be more emotionally resilient than constantly maintaining control.
You don't have to be invulnerable to be strong.
Trying to live with your own worst enemy is insurmountably the most difficult thing a man can push through.

Whoever extended this version did a great job, 👍

As a 74 yo..This took me back...to a very good place..

Jon Hamm has awakened Generation X

Never to old to feel the power!!!!!

This is best version of this song slow version has just more feels

I raved/clubbed/Dj'ed from 20 to 32, im now 48. I would love to go to the club, hear a great DJ, take some good drugs and just feel that release you get. I totally can see myself in Jon Hamm's place in this video, Your not there for the people and you dance like no one is around you or watching, you feel because you want to feel , relive memories you have forgotten , live in that moment cause you don't know if you can ever have this moment again. Growing old is a curse and a blessing. Im not that old yet, but i have friends that i partied with that are dead now. I know its a blessing to be alive, but its a curse cause of the price you pay and the things you lose to being alive. I hope younger people read this and realize , Enjoy life and the phases that you go through, try to really absorb that. Your only young for a instant, i promise.

A dude from Russia put a clip from a TV series on this hit.. And brought it back to life..😃

Like year 2000 / no phones / only pure music

Honestly, those transitions are just pure magic... been on repeat all morning! 🏝💃🔥

Love this groove so much it is infectious. When you can’t go to the club just bring the club with you. It can reside inside your spirit if you let it. So come on. Let it in.

This 8 continuous days I’m stuck with this and keep listening like totally addicted.  So smooth to listen and I can make myself completely into this and can forget many things.
LOVE it!!🫶💗

Young people don’t understand what we went through in the 90s.

i cannot stop listening…

this is the way to feel music. just block all out and enjoy the vibe

Vocals in this version are absolutely sublime... 🫠

I know this song is something like 20 years old but it's my Song of the Summer 2026! 😎

who doesnt remember the disco days and nights out dancing🎊🎇

did not realise this came out like 14 years ago, the video should put it back to the number one, on the charts.

As a fellow GenX, this appeals to me as well.  The synthesizers we were introduced to with bands like Rush have led me to this affection.  Keep it up buddy!
