Battery life is not very good because the FOB is always "on". The FOB can be turned off by holding down the lock button and double clicking the unlock button. The little red led will blink 4 times to indicate the FOB is "off". The car will now not detect it nor will it respond to car thief amplifiers. Battery life is extended. Any button click turns it back "on".

Something about watching these videos gives me hope in humanity in these dark days. It's the optimism, the friendliness, the willingness to be of service, the joy in simple things, including well designed technology.

Fun fact, you can lock your key fob in your cargo area without any warning. Thank goodness I had remote unlocking 😂

SUBARU please bring back the remote start with the stock key fob!!! The My Subaru app for starting is a major PITA.

Owner of a 24 Outback Limited. We've had this car for almost 2 years and it's probably the best vehicle we've owned. We live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and the Subaru Outback is incredible in the winter! Love this car!

The 2024 Legacy Touring Xt that I've had for 2 months needed a new battery for my fob, when I went to the store to buy the battery, I set off the stores alarm as I walked INTO the store! Confused the guy at the door.... It set it off when I left too, but I only bought a couple of things so they knew I wasn't shoplifting! Lol I'll be curious if I set it off when I go to the store again now that I have a fresh battery! Your video was very helpful though!

Want to know how much Google watches us? I purchased a new Subaru 2 weeks ago, my third. I have emails and texts from the dealership. No other mention of it on the internet. I use Yahoo mail but connected to a Gmail account. Suddenly today for the first time ever, your videos are on my YouTube feed. Big Brother is watching!

The system which avoids the key being locked in the car is a pain when your key is in your pocket, but your wife is with you, she has left her bag in the car with a key in it and vacated the car. You can't lock the car until the other key is removed, but she doesn't need her bag.
