If you want to fully understand how vacuum cleaners work and the underlying science, then check this video out https://youtu.be/_CzzDiArrrg

18:55 - so true. It is way too easy to accidentally flood the filter with dust by pressing the trigger when the bin is open. Had a new v15 and it was picking up a ton of dust and yet the filter was white. But then when emptying the bin, I accidentally pressed the trigger and the pre-filter part immediately became grey. I guess that's one benefit of the push button start on the newer than the v15 vacuums. Otherwise the vacuum is brilliantly designed and made.

16:20 - the smaller v15 shroud pores still seems to get somewhat partially clogged in some areas but overall doesn't seem to affect performance. The pores do have a way of attracting hair into the holes tho.

16:36 - yeah shroud smothering is still possible for above floor cleaning if it's really full of fine dust but not that big of a problem for me as long as I empty it and the skirt helps minimize it. The Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal 2's bin design is really cool as a solution to this but it might need too much space to implement in the cordless vacuum.

This is one of the best vacuum reviews I've ever watched! You're kinda like the technologyconnections YT guy where you explain the design concepts and functions of stuff so well.

We got a Dyson V15 detect extra and it has replaced our corded sharks and our older V8 Motorhead extra we also have to use the fluffy optic on our hardwood because they can scratch really easily

Would love to see a long term review from you

Great evils just got v11 for good price. Could I use the v15 heads on my v11. They seem to be same size

Great detailed review. I just got a V15 refurbished from Dyson for £370 on a Bkack Friday deal. It’s a great machine and for that price it’s exceptional!

So at this point in time would you recommend the v15 over the v11

Now thats a review! You arent a blody kopij kat! Keep dooing souch marwales work!

What an AMAZING HONEST DETAILED REVIEW!!! as i was having mild regrets after other reviews. But more confident now.

Great highlighting crucial points and differences. I never knew such improvements were made on the v15 so I'm definitely getting their top model. Your a great Dyson enthusiast!

Love this video. Would have liked to see more about using the accessories though, most were not even mentioned. Also, would like to know more about when to clean filter, how long to dry and is there a notification on the display for this ? Will check if you have any other videos on this.

I guess you never tested the best microphone because your sound is very bad.

Cheers Mate.

i just ordered this at 799 ( canadian )  580 ( US )....is that a good deal ? was 200 off ( regular 999 canadian )....cheers from Canada

Incorrect use of the term "archemedian screw".

I wonder why dyson hasn't released carpet washer tho ??

Good job! You really got prepared for the review 👍

I LOVE the green laser not to see where I need to vacuum (I already have good technique so I know I’m going over everything), but I love seeing confirmation on the pullback that where I just went over is truly clean :). Awesome video and great review!

Thanks for your review. At this price point, Is it worth waiting for the replacement V15 which is just around the corner?

8:12 Can I use the old or new mini turbine tool on hard surfaces? Like wooden stairs with no carpet
