They were particularly known for their sapphire mines, but the Kashmir conflict in the 1990s plunged this unique region into oivion, its landscapes earning it the nickname "Switzerland of the Himalayas." Rigzen Tsewang lives in Zanskar.
He decided to travel to Paldar via the formidae Omasila Pass, at an altitude of 5,400m. In doing so, he takes us on a journey to discover these exceptionally preserved villages, to which Hinduism gives a special and colorful character, especially during the festival that celebrates the beginning of the harvest.
