As always, it is clear how the Lord uses Pastor Piper to (by only sharing the Word) advance between the barriers we build around our hearts and reaches ourselves at our core with love, grace and mercy! God bless the Desiring God team for this amazing and important work.

So important, useful for teaching, 10:50
Every 6 year old, who is a Christian, should be able to answer this question: how can God punish sin, if Jesus had no sin? Why did God use Jesus to hold the sin of everyone, by being put to death, if Jesus didn't have sin? Why was He "punished" for all our sin if He is the only one who didn't sin? The answer is: that's the whole point. He was the only one who could be punished for our sin. He's God and if we were punished for our sin, we would all be eternally dead with no chance at eternal life. It would be God and the angels in heaven and every person God ever created would be dead and eternally in hell. God wants us with Him. So He created a way for us to chose Him. He died for us so we didn't have to because we couldn't*. We have sin, so how could we pay for our sin? You can pay a debt of sin with sin, being flawed. You can't pay a debt with ripped up money. Sin has to be paid with a perfect, innocent sacrifice. The only one who *could do that, was Jesus (as He is God, perfect and sinless, the only one ever), so *it had to be Him*. And He chose to do that for us. The ultimate act of love.
If they can't answer that question, Bible study at home needs to be "beefed up" or started if not already. Don't blame the church or Sunday school. This is the parents responsibility (if they are Christians)
