I must see if I have a Stoppax amongst my attachments (or in my box of mystery items), that looks brilliant to have on my main vintage machine, thanks for this very imformative video Sam
Thanks for explaining the Stopax particularly, as I have one in the box, with no idea what it was for. Now I can give it a go! Was surprised you changed tension with presser foot up though, as my manual says always lower presser foot to change tension, and on my 201 if I don't, it messes it up? Very useful to see the three different ways of working, and the greaseproof paper was an easy fix :)
Can you do a darning with the singer style sock darner attachment? Also i tried darning socks with it but the patch is so hard it makes it uncomfortable
Cab I use parchment paper instead of grease proof paper? I think parchment is siliconized... I've never heard of grease proof paper and not sure if I have that in Canada. I'll have to look.
I never lock my sewing that way. Is it long lasting?
I planned to wander around a sewing machine repair shop to see if they have vintage attachments on sale. According to my aunt, the low shank Singer i got from her that belongs to grandmother came with the bulky buttonhole attachment (stolen) and ruffler attachment (broken long time ago before it was stolen)
