Gustavo grew up seeing his father as the king of the house, his hero, and the pillar of his family. But one day, that hero left. His father had found “another queen” and another home, and his departure left a deep wound in Gustavo, his mother, and his brother.

Some time later, a painful experience marked his life even more. Little by little, he began to take refuge in alcohol and drugs, until he reached a point where he lost jobs, lost his way, and ended up living for two years in the world of prostitution in Miami.

One night, before going back to work, he went into the bathroom of a nightclub. There, lying on the floor and completely defeated, he asked God to take his life.

But that wouldn't be the final chapter of his story.

Shortly after, he heard about a spiritual retreat for young people. Gustavo agreed to go, but not because he wanted to encounter God. His intention was entirely different: he was determined to sabotage the retreat.

What he didn't imagine was that this place would become the beginning of a transformation that would change his life forever.

This is Gustavo's testimony: a story of abandonment, hurt, addiction, darkness, despair, and, ultimately, an unexpected encounter with God.
