3 Simple Mods For Better Handling!!
Upgrade your WLtoys 284019 RC rally car with these three quick and easy modifications.
The first two don't cost a cent and can be completed in under 5 minutes. With these adjustments, you'll see immediate improvements to your car's steering and handling. All you need is a screwdriver!
While these results are impressive, you'll see the most dramatic improvement when you add in the third mod - a relatively inexpensive set of upgraded radial tires. These RC tires only cost about $20 on Amazon, and I feel they are well worth that price. They provide a TON more grip on the race track versus the stock tires, which allows the first two tweaks to really take effect. I'll share the link for them below.
With this setup, braking and cornering are greatly improved, and I've shaved nearly TWO SECONDS off my previous lap times. But don't just take my word for it - check out the video to see the results in action!
At the end I'll briefly touch on some radio tuning that can help with lap consistency. I can now routinely keep this car running in the mid to low 5s and high 4s.

You could try putting a spool up front and giving it a test. I think the front spool exits the turns better, but what do I know. The drift version (I still call them the 969 and 989) used to have two spools so I get one of those and swap. (Got to have two anyway and they got to be different.) A locked ball diff works but some of those need longer axles.
I use the 5 spoke Amazon wheels and tires. I'm going to try the narrower front tires. Sometimes there are issues and the end of the long straight.
The metal parts are for looks. I bought some and they're in a box.
Oh and I stripped the head on that servo screw doing that. It's only three screws to remove the servo and save that little screw.
