There never was a more exciting player to watch than Rickey.  🙇‍♂️

Ricky Henderson.  Best lead-off hitter ever!

George Brett, Cal Ripken Jr, Tony Gwynn, Ken Griffey Jr and Reggie Jackson. Solid list.

Peace to Tony Gwynn

This was so dope to listen to. Rickey played during some great times.

The secret, but no secret here, is that Rickey is a poet. A poet on the field, and a philosopher about himself and the game. i.e. Greatness.

My favorite baseball player so much hustle power and swag.

Wow, one interview changed my whole perspective of him

what a legendary thing to come across. the fastest was also a poet. chills.

I had the fortune of seeing him play several times when he was with the Yankees. He would hit the ball, and if you blinked your eyes to see where the ball was going, Ricky would be rounding 2base.
May he R.I.P. 😇

One of the greatest baseball players ever.

Loved how Rickey talked in the 3rd person

It’s so crazy hearing the crazy 3rd person stories of Rickey Henderson then see this and this man gives full breakdowns of his favorite players like a damn monologue in a movie. Impressive tbh

This recording is absolute gold. Ricky, may he rest in peace, was quite the character, and there are some stories about him that are funny as hell, but this...man, I'm just blown away at how poetic he was in this interview. I love that there's no background music. Nothing but the sound of his voice telling it over as he saw it. It's such a classic recording...I felt the whole time like I would hear the old-time crackling of the radio waves, from say the 1930s-1950s, yet this man played during my lifetime. Listening to interviews like this about baseball is, for me, like listening to a great symphony. I can't explain it; it just takes me to a deep, deep place, where everything is as it should be. Thank you for posting.

What an incredible listen. Such a simple question (5 greatest players he ever saw) but it was answered with such depth and heart. I'd listen to him philosophize about anything. What an absolute legend.

I was lucky enough to see Ricky get his 3000 hit as a Padre. And even luckier to see Tony Gwynn's entire career. Both were one of kind type of players we will never see again.

Quite possibly my favorite player ever.... Man, Rickey meant a lot to me growing up.

Rickey was my favorite 😢 Rip to a legend. They will never break his records

What a pleasure to have such an intelligent and articulate hero to grow up with. I broke the little league stealing base record when Ricky was a rookie. I lived in Oakland and Ricky Henderson was different. Hallnof famer and then some

Lovely hearing how thoughtful Rickey is about his choices, miss you Rickey🥲🥲🥲⚾️⚾️⚾️
