Floyds are so much fun once it’s all setup nice.

Well, I have the tool and sold my last Floyd guitar awhile back before using the tool..
Guess I’d better buy a new guitar with a Floyd ? Seems like a great idea!

Great tool. Doesnt change the headache of tuning it up though. 🤪

How come I didn't know about this til now?

I play an Ibanez and the Original Edge, and I never have problems.

Setting intonation in a Floyd is a headache even with the tool. Having to loosen the string to have access to the saddle screws and having multiple holes on the base plate is a nightmare. And depeding on how you have the tremolo set up, you can't intonate it because the saddles don't move far back or front enough. Ibanez did solve that issue on their ZR tremolos by having the saddle screw and slot slight offset to the right so you could access it without the string being on the way but they discontinued it only to make the Edge Zero, which is an inferior version of it.

Edge Pro or Vegatrem

there is a Red Bishop intonation tool which is way more better design and function and accomodates different types of floyd type locking tremolos

Rather than the Key in this video, I invested a bit more into the Red Bishop Accu-Locator. So much easier to use and wont fall apart by screwing too much. Also works for ALL double locking trems like the Gotoh 1996T and Ibanez Edge systems as well rather than just the Floyd Rose. Way better investment tool wise imo.

I bought one in 2011. Where have you been? 😂

Great video Tony. I use the John Suhr method to intonate all my guitars. Using the 3rd and 15th fret. It takes the nut out of the equation and I find it more accurate.

Gotoh 1996t is superior.

This tool sucks. Broke first time I used it. It stripped the threads in the slider. You need to buy a "Red Bishop" intonation tool. Much more universal for different Floyd and imitation Floyd types and it's MUCH better built and heavy duty. They make a few different kinds. The one I got is the RBIA1

ive got two guitars with Floyds never had any intonation issues and my Floyds are the cheapo specials.

I found the perfect wooden, rusty wirebrush handle, cut it off, shaped it on a wheel, threw it in with some Titebond and lived happily ever after.

@SMstudios78 1 year ago

Sorry but that tool is terrible!!! It strips out very easily and turning the adjustment becomes more and more difficult over use. In another comment here the red bishop was mentioned. It’s a much better product and design plus it works with all double locking bridges.

Who needs or wants all that Floyd crap. The greatest whammy album ever made (VH 1) was done with a vintage trem. I have no desire to squeal every other note like Dime or Zack.

@Dano6sic69 1 year ago

That tool is crap. Complete garbage. Been setting up floyds for 30 years.
RED BISHOP ACCU-LOCATOR is a way better tool. Its fully adjustable and fits ALL floyd manufacturers.
