Messing with someone's mailbox in the US is a federal offence.

The reason the TV is up in the corner of this particular house is because of all the windows, they don't want to TV to hide the view.  You also find them often above the fireplace.

Her parents are pretty well-to-do.  A piece of property on the water is Expensive.  A piece of property that large , with a house that large = Expensive.  I sure wouldn"t call them an average household.

TV in that room means they are responsible lake dwellers who keep an eye on the shore for problems before they are deaths.
TV placement:
No window reflection.
Window view.
Foot traffic under picture, not blocking.
Remote signal less likely to be blocked.

Stealing mail is a federal offense.  Not a good idea to steal mail.

The garage is for storing cars the SHED is for storing yard machinery for mowing etc

Brother, I only wanted to say that I absolutely appreciate how close you and your mother are.
Thanks for being a good son. Her time with you means more to the both of you than either of you may ever be able to express.

It makes my heart swell and long for one more day with my mom.

#RIPMommaColleen.

Yes, its an option to leave packages in as well. We have locked mailboxes too

When running the garbage disposal, your supposed to run the water so you don't burn up the motor plus it washes the food down the drain.

We like ice in a cold drink no matter the weather. If it is middle of winter and freezing out and we have iced tea with our meal - we want plenty if ice! The weather has nothing to do with it! 👍

Why do we need multiple cars? Multiple reasons. 1. Anyone who has a job, including kids, needs a car to get to work. 2. If one parent works and the other stays home, the one at home needs a car to take the kids to school and to get around to shop, unless you live in a big city, where there's public transportation. In the suburbs and country, which is most of the US, it might be 10 or 15 miles to the supermarket. You're not walking that!
Because we live in the exurbs, I used to have a truck, in addition to my car, to take tree limbs to the dump, or take the lawn mower or snowblower to a repair shop. It wasn't totally necessary, but there are times now when I miss having it. Also, many people have a work-related vehicle, like a van or service truck that belongs to their employer, but they use for work, so they keep it at home.
All these reasons are related to the size of the US. We don't drive everywhere because we're lazy, we drive because we have to. It's not feasible to walk 60 miles to work in the morning and back at night, which is exactly what I had to do for a job I used to have. Size matters!

Slot of ppl have a sitting area in their bedrooms. Each person has a tv in they're bedrooms. A gaming tv, the kids tv, living room tv. bedroom tv, sometimes one in the bathroom.

One: This isn't an average American home. This family definitely has money.

Two: Yes, two people live there "all the time"...but in America, it's VERY common for family to come from all over the US and stay for a longer period. Remember the SIZE of the States. If family is visiting from out of state, it may take them 12+ hours to get to mom and dads. Staying for an extended period just makes more sense.

A happy marriage is: two cars, two TVs, two computers, and two bathrooms. Trust me on this.

Keep in mind the US is a huge country! Some people commute to work for hours.  My son in law traveled 3 hours one way to work.  A reliable vehicle is essential, therefore many people have multiple vehicles in case one breaks down they have a back up and can still get back and forth to work.  Also, in America both parents usually work and don't work at the same place, so they need a car for each to get to work.

Cars, if one breaks down, you've got backup... Most people work 20 to 30 miles from home, and most commute in the opposite direction. The TV sits where the best view for the whole room to see, and yes, TVs's in every room.

To answer your "mum" 's parcel question: you can print out a shipping label for your parcel from the USPS website and then arrange a pick up, or you can take it directly to the post office

This is not the average home in the US. This couple obviously have more money than the average citizen.

The law enforcement arm of the U.S. Postal Service is called the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS). The officers are known as Postal Inspectors.

They're federal law enforcement agents who investigate crimes involving the mail, such as mail fraud, theft, identity theft, and dangerous mail (like explosives or hazardous substances). They’re one of the oldest federal law enforcement agencies in the U.S., dating back to 1775.

The reason the television is up in the corner like that in that specific home is because their walls are solid glass to see the outside.  They can't attach it to the glass.
