So hopeful that we'll start seeing appliance companies start making better appliances again. We need quality appliances.

A 30 year lifetime washer with a 5 year warranty; sounds about right.

My kids are going to dress as cardboard washer & dryers and I'm going to dress as this guy for Halloween.

You are the only person for whom I will watch a 22 minute video about a washing machine that is not even purchasable yet.  I am tentatively excited but also worried that Maytag ends up over-promising on its durability.

Way to go Maytag. Straight up controls. No wifi, LCD screen that craps out in 2 years, or snooping apps that sell your conversations to data brokers. Looking right at you Samsung, LG, and enshittified brands. This is my next big ticket appliances.😊

Feeling the heat from Speed Queen. My Maytag washer is over 40 now, looks and works like new.

Built to last thirty years.
I'll believe it, if it comes with  a thirty year parts and labor warranty.

Has the time finally come where  companies don’t compete with features anymore but durability and longevity 💪

Yes!!!!  More of this!  We dont want "smart" appliances, we want reliable machines!

He was not the hero we wanted, but the hero we NEEDED.

He is... The Maytag Repairman!

i was able to get my eyes on it as well i work for a commercial washer and dryer company very excited for all that changes. im glad they finally listened to us technicians and changed there ways

This is great news. Glad to see manufacturers realize there is money to be made in quality

After having to buy a brand new washing machine one every three years I decided to go back in time to the things that actually work! I found an old 1970s washing machine on marketplace and went and bought it. This thing is awesome! It has manual knobs and buttons and absolutely no computer whatsoever. In fact it has no lid lock whatsoever. You can open the lid with it running even when it's spinning. I absolutely love this thing. And remember this is from the 1970s and it's still running strong. When and if it breaks I will gladly pay the money to get it fixed

This guy is such a gem to YouTube I love these videos so much

Not sure why the YT algorithm sent me here, but damn if I didn't learn a lot about washing machine mechanics and design.  Thanks for making the video!

Cracks me up to think I listened to most of this and then remembered I am over 70 and don't need to worry about anything lasting 30 years. The last round of appliances I bought were all cheap items and they all lasted ten years, so far. The dryer stopped drying last year. Using sun power since then. Might buy two tubs and a wringer when the washer goes out.

Imagine building things to last!! What a concept!!

My washer and dryer came with the house almost 20 years ago and I've spent a total of about $90 repairing them myself. Basic white analog knobs and fewer than 5 screws to access key components.

Dad returned from the US in 1976. He brought him with him a maytag washer. it still works. it literally outlived my dad.

A back to basics approach would be good for the appliance makers.   I've got a 25 year old washer that's pretty simple and still cranking away properly.   A washer just needs to wash well,  and a dryer just needs to dry well.........   and do that day in and day out.
