Tom Weiskopf played amazing and he disserved a Masters championship. One of the best swings ever.

When I can't sleep or I'm resless I always put the old masters vids on!! is a great way to relax the mind!!!

“Jim Colbert.....with the graphite shaft......”.  I love the historical values of these Master’s broadcasts. Thank you for sharing these.

What a great tournament finish. Amazing year for the masters 💖

hole-by-hole announcers (1974 Masters) CBS:
Jim Thacker 12
Pat Summerall 13
Jack Whitaker 14
Ben Wright 15
Henry Longhurst 16
Frank Glieber 17
Ray Scott 18

Ironicly, the last Masters broadcast for Ray Scott

It’s fun to see how gradually they add additional holes to the coverage over the years.   And the old style leader board

Fascinating watching these old tournaments. Greens alot slower than now

Augusta National coupled with the players/personalities, has produced so much drama, throughout it's storied history. Merci beaucoup, for posting this/as well as other tournaments.

Back then in 1974, during the NBA basketball game (first season on CBS) was not broadcast to give way to the bonus broadcast final round coverage of the 1974 Masters instead of the LIVE coverage of the NBA (I think that was the late Pat Summerall become number one play-by-play announcer once a season and later Brent Musburger).

I love these old footage, back when every player had a unique unmistakable swing but what really thorws me off is how different the game on and around the green was, green were like today´s fairways, like they really had to hit it hard  for the ball to move at all,

These old films of Augusta are so cool. I love looking at each each and comparing how they look now.

Love the distinctive swings when u could identify a player from 200 yards.

When golf was golf I love it,before adjustable drivers and attaching wires to our body to measure the speed of our left hand,we hav lost our minds

To be able to shoot a 64 with the equipment they had is truly impressive.

One thing about how the back nine went shows that there were more players in the hunt than what the official film the AGNC put out later that year showed, because the film focused it's final round action on four players, Gary Player, Dave Stockton, Tom Weiskopf, and Jack Nicklaus, but it also ignores the efforts of Hale Irwin, who stepped on the final tee within a stroke of the lead, thanks to a birdie on 16. That would be as close as Irwin would ever get to a Masters title, though his performance also foreshadowed what he would do two months later at Winged Foot, when he captured the first of three U.S. Open titles. In fact, well into the back nine, as is seen at 51:55, no fewer than TEN players were within two strokes of the lead, any one of which could have won what was one of the most underrated Masters of all-time.

Only Gary Player can wear a ball cap all day and have perfect hair when removed.

Weiskoff was known for his temper, but he's always so gracious in these interviews.  Funny that Stockton blew it through shabby putting--he was one of the best--maybe it was that outfit🤭😧😖

What a dagger by the "Black Knight" on 17.

Player set the record that year for most years between Masters victories - 13 (1961 to 1974), a record that stood until Tiger won in 2019, setting the new record of 14 years between Masters victories (2005 to 2019).

(48:24) Great recovery shot by Jack Nicklaus, who didn't bother to take off his right shoe to step into the lake in front of 15th green.
