The LP60 has long stood as Audio Technica's go-to entry-level automatic turntable offering. Could the LP70 be slowly changing that for good?

The LP70 brings several upgrades to the table, building on the LP60 design with improvements that could make it a no-brainer over the LP60 for years to come. Join me for my conclusion and a full review.

i was unfortunate enough to get one of these that skipped....I contacted AT and they emailed me a shipping label and was asked to send back JUST the turntable. Nothing else, no dust cover, platter or accessories. EXACTLY 1 week after I sent it, I had a brand-new replacement at my door. So now I have a spare dust cover, platter and accessories. You can't beat that kind of customer service. The replacement has worked flawlessly. I think it sounds fantastic.

I bought one of these as my first turntable to play my grandfathers old collection - Johnny Cash, Rod Stewart and The Who to name a few. 6 months later I have invested in some records of my own and am really enjoying it as a hobby!

When I was getting into records last year, I was going to buy the LP60. The week I went to purchase it, the LP70 had been released. I liked the aesthetics better, so I bought it. I didn’t know anything about turntables. I love mine. I just upgraded the stylus to a micro linear about a month ago. I love the sound it gives.

I’m also using the built-in pre amp. I will probably buy an external pre amp in the next year. Unless some new design gets released, I plan on upgrading to the dual CS529 in the next 2 years.

Hi Mark! I bought the LP 70 I enjoy it what sold me on it was the N95 needles! It’s a solid choice! But later this year I am going to upgrade with another Audio Technica with a price for 600 to 800 . I will have both! Great review!

Hi Marc, this question is totally off topic, but I was wondering when you're going to post another "Records and Pubs" video.? I may have the title backwards, but.....I really enjoyed the couple you have posted and look forward to more!

Hi Marc - an awesome, well constructed and easy to understand video for us folks who are getting back into vinyl - thank you! I think this will replace my old and very used Sony and should partner with my Marantz PM5005 well. I was going down the the base Sony player (dearer than the LP-70x and not rated as highly) but I think this is more to my tastes and sonically better!

How do you record your videos? There are tons of dropped frames. It'll drop some frames for a couple seconds, then play smoothly, then drop some frames for a couple seconds, then play smoothly, and so on and so on until the video ends.

I just got the lp70xbt last week and it’s perfect for me. All I wanted is a turntable that sounds good and won’t rapidly destroy my records I’ve had since the 70’s. And the lp70 does exactly that. I’m not a hobbyist or audiophile I just like listening to records.

Do you like this one better than the Sony onsale right now regular $449 now $199?

@mikemoniz4441 1 year ago

My honest opinion, if someone is going to spend the money to start a vinyl record collection that they will actually listen to, buying a better turntable shouldn't be an issue. Albums are too expensive nowadays to use an entry level turntable. For $100 more, one could get a better turntable that could be the last one they buy. To me, it's all about the cartridge.

As this video is spoken in Spanish of course I will write then ya tenia la Lp60 es magnífica decidí ascender un escalón arriba con la Lp 70x que adquirí a través de Amazon, y problemas de saltos, push the start y no monta en el disco solo lo hace girar press stop key monta sobre el disco otro problema a la mitad del recorrido se levanta el brazo y se coloca en posición de reposo have many problems indeed I'd return it and I'll try once again hope send me a good one cause I like that
