As a hungarian, I thank You for this superb video! The pronunciation of Pécs is like: "Peich", the ending letter is like the beginning of the word "child."

That white building at the end of the Museum street is the actual oldest standing building in Hungary. It was built in the 1200s, you can still see a stone cannonball in its walls. Its kindof unofficial, but if you go a little bit further on the Museum street, there is a little appartment, where the world's oldest vine can be found, its more than 500 years old, and there are still grapes on it. The owner of the appartment doesnt want flocks of tourists on his property, but he occasionally shows the vine.  You can see the ruins of the original Basilika, its right below the newone in a pit. You dont have to pay to actually visit the Basilika, its totally free, only if you want to visit the lower temple or the old Roman catacombs. People are really easygoing in Pécs, they did even let me to play the organ, of course I had to convince them, that I can actually play on it. So if nexttime you want to visit Pécs, just feel free to go inside on any unlocked doors. Thank you for the video.

Should be pronounced as Pech and not as Pex. Your perception of Pécs being a very small town is not quite accurate. Actually it is the size of Buda (Western part of Budapest) but it is built on the hills and valleys so you cannot really feel it. Besides it is a university town and gets very vibrant when the school starts. Probably you were there during the summer holiday season when locals leave the town for the beaches and sturdenst travel home. Once they are back it becomes vibrant.

It's not so much of a "small town", it is a city with over 140 000 residents today. The center can get very busy depending of the time of day and season.
People have already pointed out the pronunciation thing, CS in Hungarian is one of those special letters in the alphabet written with two characters but representing one sound and a single letter in a word. It has a sound that would usually be written with "ch" in English like in cheese. How English text to speech engines would pronounce it correctly would be somewhere along the lines of "Paitch". Try to make Google Translate say it, that's very close to how you say it in Hungarian.

I studied there from 2012 to 2014. Nowadays, I sometimes have dreams of streets of pecs.

The "mosque" is actually a catholic church. During the Ottoman period,c they overtook that church and turned it into a mosque. It is now a fully returned to a catholic church. The people of Pecs kept the Turkish markings as a reminder of that period.

Well, there is no Mosque in Pécs because the city has NO muslim population. (Proununce like Pech, not Pex).
The building of the former Mosque is a Catholic Church:  the Inner-city Candlelit Blessed Virgin Mary Church.

It's not Pecks, do your research man. It's "Paytch", and it IS a city, not a small town. It is the 5th largerst city in Hungary, with a population of a 140.000 people.
