24:29 Disney killing Snyder's daughter so they could insert Joss Whedon and destroy the Snydervese from the inside is one of the most schizophrenic thoughts I've ever seen

@BrinIoca 1 year ago

Their complaints about the new Superman movie in general could just be boiled down to "oh my God, why aren't they constantly aura farming??"

@RoseDuWolfe 1 year ago

I mean, James Gunn wrote Dawn of the Dead for Snyder. Yes they’re friends.

It’s kinda funny how he starts off trying to understand the Snyderbros and then progressively gets more annoyed at them the more videos he makes

Unironically if you want a darker take on DC, read the Absolute comics. They're goated.

I always find the comparison of Snyder's Superman being Homelander to be inaccurate. Homelander is actively malicious, he loves hurting people to make himself feel big and important. Snyder's Superman is like Doctor Manhattan. Seemingly all-powerful, ambivalent to those he saves, his only link to humanity the woman he loves, working closely with the US military, never smiles or shows genuine warmth...

Snyder constantly bringing up the charity donations is almost comical. "Your honor, my son couldn't have committed this murder because he runs a soup kitchen."

The Snyderverse "protest" clip physically hurts every time. The absolute silence after "hENrY CAviLlE's SuPerMaN!!!" kills part of my soul every time.

For me, the most significant takeaway is that these people are not Superman fans. Real Superman fans are capable of empathy, compassion, and, at a bare minimum, like more than one version of the character. Meanwhile, they have expressed nothing but contempt for other versions of Superman, attacked movies produced by Warner Bros for the crime of not being Snyderverse, harassed employees and actors for not supporting Snyderverse, deliberately spread misinformation and hate out of spite, and done everything in their power to make the online social ecosystem as unbearable as possible.

Even as someone who always supports the artists, Warner Bros giving into their demands to release the Snydercut was 100% a mistake, especially since it didn't even perform well, since all it did was embolden their worst and toxic tendencies. Also, their making ONE charity drive YEARS ago is not a good enough thing to exonerate them of their wrongdoings, especially since they have endlessly exploited the tragedy of Snyder's daughter as an endless source of pity-baiting. She died, and that was a tragedy, but reducing her to an unwilling mascot for your toxic movement is sickeningly wrong.

Minor correction: after lois shoots Clark/Superman he says “you realize if you’d been wrong, you would have shot Clark.” And she says “good thing it was a blank!”

Shows the playfulness, is a good joke, and implies Superman is so strong he couldn’t even tell nothing hit him.

Corenswet and Gunn are what we need in this era.

We’ve been dealing with so many real world examples of genuine evil and corruption winning out against kindness and empathy, that we just want something to make us feel like being nice is worth it again.

We don’t need a Superman that lets people die around him while he aura farms. We need a Superman that breaks down in tears when even the most seemingly insignificant of people dies in front of him.

We need a good man who feels emotions, to remind us that those emotions are okay to have.

Regular fans are ok with Superman being Goku: powerful to the point of unstoppable, but laughs a lot and has fun with life. Snyder fans just want Kakkarot

@dinosaurpolitician3663 1 year ago

The most depressing part of the snyderverse is how it doesn’t really have any fans who MAKE things. The MCU has hundreds of devoted fan artists and cosplayers and fanfic authors and stuff. The new DC stuff has some too! Snyder cut is a black hole for that sort of thing. Not one of these guys is passionate about the characters or world to want to play toys with it and that’s kinda sad

1:37:08 "Gunn pocketed that money for himself, his wife..." Yeah, that's what we call in the biz "getting paid for one's own work, AKA WAGES".

@omegajester 1 year ago

Cole just released his own Snydercut.

I'm just watching the fandom's gradual slide into irrelevance, while listening to "Punkrocker".

My favorite thing about Snyderbro's is when they scoff at superheros for being nerd shit and act like they have finer taste.

The level of self-awareness is jaw dropping. XD

@Davyjones9923 1 year ago

What’s blowing my mind is how Snyder bros don’t realize Henry cavil’s Superman would be disgusted by their behavior

@WraysCustoms 1 year ago

I don't even get it. Superman is supposed to be a somewhat goofy character most of the time. How is Superman being portrayed as silly a bad thing?

I encountered a person yesterday who said that the Transformers "weren't as good as they used to be". I don't think he was referring to the beloved Transformers One that came out this past year. I don't think he paid attention to anything Transformers-related that has come out in the past 10 years. We're finally out of Michael Bay(for now), and we mostly got better movies without him. All he knows is vague stuff here and there, and he knows Shia and Megan are no longer the main stars. Casual viewers don't pay attention and all they know is the early Michael Bay movies as their only experience with the franchise.

I have encountered a few people IRL who have a hard time accepting that Cyclops is the leader of the X-Men or that Wolverine is a short dude who wears bright yellow, but these are the type of people who don't get on the internet and become aware of X-Men beyond the movies.

The Snyder Bros on the otherhand, they're actually on the internet all the time. They should've been informed that Snyder doesn't have the best take on DC. They should've been aware of all the other versions of Superman, Batman, and everyone else.
