Narration: Come, let us take you to a mountain village where potatoes are cultivated extensively.
In this old village stands a dilapidated fort, as you can see... The village market is held right outside this fort, and since potatoes are grown in abundance here, the locals love eating 'Dum Aloo'. Stalls selling 'Dum Aloo' can be seen set up all across the market.
Right here in this village, just outside the palace, lives a poor family that earns a living through manual labor and cleaning work. It is time for the market to close, and the family members are gathering the trash scattered in front of the shops.

Geeta (20, worried): Sister-in-law, evening is setting in, and we’ve finished all the cleaning. We should head home now.

Surbhi (24, serious): Yes, let’s go ask the shopkeepers for our payment.

Geeta (20, happy): Alright, I’ll go to that Dum Aloo vendor at the corner and collect my wages.

Surbhi (24, serious): Yes, go ahead; meanwhile, I’ll clear away the trash here.

Narration: Geeta walks briskly to the Dum Aloo stall, where the shopkeeper is tallying his accounts.

Geeta (20, serious): *Bhaiya*, we’ve swept the entire area in front of your shop; please give us our payment.

Kallu (40, serious): Alright, you’ve done a good job cleaning; here are your ten rupees.

Geeta (20, happy): Thank you, *Bhaiya*. Now I’ll go collect the money from the other shops too.

Narration: Elsewhere, Vidya (the mother-in-law), broom in hand, stands before another Dum Aloo stall.

Madhav (32, serious): Brother, there’s one thing I don’t understand—why don’t you folks make anything new besides *Dum Aloo*?

Raghav (30, surprised): You’re absolutely right... friend, if you made something new, it would sell like crazy here.
