Sometimes the best bit of a ride is meeting someone, chatting and sharing a few minutes of your loop or rest stop I always say hi and while passing someone a quick enjoy your walk/ride goes a long way towards our reputation, I even try to make friends with horses if the rider is happy for me too.

Sometimes you just have to put aside being a grump, it’s all for the greater good!

I have been riding MTB on my local trails for 3 years now. I rarely other riders. However, I did have a negative experience coming across a group of gravel guys while I was coming down a VERY wide fire road. They were side by side conversing amongst themselves not paying attention. I saw them in advance and moved to the left of the trail and was yelling "rider" to get their attention to no avail. Finally, one guy motioned to the rest of the group to make room for me, a solo rider. None of them gestured an apology or acknowledgement. It comes down to what James said "trail etiquette."

There's always a place for very long dropper posts: riders who need XXL frames like me. 101cm of me are just crotch height. I sighed in relief when FINALLY 240mm droppers came out because I want maximum movement on the downhills. On some XXL frames, I could even use 300mm drop as well. Saddle height seated is at 895mm from BB center.

I love to hear of old parts getting made again, or even existing parts continuing to be made for 26", but I'd much rather have the same options as 29ers for modern tread patterns, compounds, widths and tyre carcass.

Just because I refuse to move with the times is no reason I should have to miss out on all the amazing new developments.

I had to chuckle when you featured the fatbike, thanks you Owen. Yes Manitou Mastodon forks for fatbikes. OOOOOO Wash you mouth out James, slip of the tongue there. Fatbike have enough trouble with peoples assumptions. Sick of explaining its human powered.
Ref other fatbike brands... Hello. haha.
The Feature: No! Of course not, lots of low standover frames now, so its great to have the options to have a post to fit. Ref length, handy when you stop, or pack the bike being able to drop the seat out of the way, or sit on when you stop for a chat. Although, I see a few people opting to dump the dropper for some rides. I'm in that bracket with my XC hardtail. Its great to have the options. Ref 32, looking forward to building my new production 32er in the next few weeks. Keep it coming boys. Salsa Cycles founded by Ross Shaffer, Early 80's. Chilli pepper logo.

Ref being friendly to other riders. Yes totally agree, but we are British, so known for being reserved haha. I do struggle with some motorised riders. But hey hoe. Life to short and all that. It's a human thing to put ourselves in "boxes" in all walks of life.

Two comments:

I am 6'3 and don't run a dropper. Admittedly I am overbiked. I run a heavily upgraded Epic Evo 7. The hardest trails I used to ride were South Mountain when I lived in AZ. Short, who has only been riding MTB for about 4 years, can keep up with me on her WC.

As a longtime Carhartt wearer, WIP is not really Carhartt. It is a licensing deal with Edwin and Salomée Faeh from Switzerland. As mentioned they are a fashion brand. My Carhartt Chore Coat from circa 2002 is not fully broken in yet (yes seriously). My H2H x Carhartt jacket and flannel lined jeans saved me when a gas heater failed in a tent in which I was standing guard, covering me in flaming fuel. The WIP jacket I got for christmas in 2015 is completely worn out. We have a homestead in Bulgaria, and I wish I could get OG Carhartt out here instead of having to have family send it out.
