I've never seen the platform 1 or 2 so I didn't know they cleaned up the place using 'anti gravity' magic. But then I realized I have been seeing this platform float down to all the rooms without any wires or chains or anything connected to it at all, but that just never registered in my head as any kind of nonsense lmao. I just accepted the floating platform like yep that looks legit.

The problem with this experiment is that there are no incentives to adjust behavior. If good behavior led to a higher level and bad to a lower level, then you would quickly see major positive adjustment. I work in a prison. There are many levels but suffice to say that there is General Poplulation and if you mess up, Restorative housing. It used to be more effective when RHU was worse but now it isn't much lower than GP so the inmates do not care enough to try and return to GP. So we have quite the issue with problem inmates. Much like this movie, critical policy decisions are made by people who have never set foot in a prison and have a warped thought of what a prisoner is.

I feel like the Loyalist biggest flaw actually wasn't the food distribution system (flawed as it is), it was the totalitarian rules outside of food and extreme punishments that in-sighted rebellions

a nice meal choice would be some military survival bars, they're not that tasty and don't look good so nobody would try to eat them before, but they're around 500 calories each, you could eat 4 or 5 in two minutes

I find it hard to believe any fair system would work out for all 666 inmates. People on the brink of starvation will be unlikely to follow strictly to rules. That being said, here are some rules I disagree with:
- Discarding the food of the dead. It's obviously wasteful, but it's bound to be hard to keep track of the body fat and remaining time of all inmates, not to mention lying about the time remaining, so it's better to simply decide that the food of the dead goes to the floors below the dead, preventing loopholes where you benefit from murdering. For the rest of the month, the people directly below the dead gets the food for a day, then passes it to the next floor the next day and so on.
- No cannibalism. Allow it following a similar rule as above: give it to those who are below them. Since dead people can be kept unlike food, each floor gets to keep the body for 1 day (or 0 if you don't want it). Chances are, most people would pass it up except for the hungriest and boldest.
- Rule of 4 (or 6). If comm chain is the issue, leave 1 person per even-numbered floor and get more people from higher floors, up to perhaps 8 or 10 (which is pretty hard to beat even for 2 strong guys with a sword).

My only issue with this movie was when they started throwing away extra meals. like nah let them go down the more food down the better for those below. even if someone eats a bit extra the bonus meals will help to guarantee more makes it down. And then we work down from there. The guy heading the rules doing this is why there was a rebellion.
