The way Nigel talks is so soothing and relaxing.  His books are the same.  I hope to see more videos of Nigel Slater about gardening.  
Nigel is blessed with milder weather than I get at 850ft above sea level, and his garden is far more sheltered. After many decades of gardening I have discovered what are known as the Darwin tulips, or perennial tulips.  Those are the only tulips I will now ever buy to plant in my garden.  The flowers are large on strong stems and growing in my blustery garden high on the Pennines of West Yorkshire. They have lasted in bloom for weeks, literally, grown with a little protection from the northerly blasts at the side of my small garden studio. I keep a blog, a form of diary, so that I know what were successes over many years and which were not.

What an incredibly beautiful , idyllic garden ; expertly constructed , ( delivering greenery in winter and affording privacy ) ; from the choice of landscaping , to the selection of plants , to the flagstone paving  - everything is perfection - evidenced by the sense of calm one feels in simply viewing this haven .

I just love your garden stories. They are so tender and filled with sensability. Your garden remindes me of at world beyond time and space - a secret univers and I am thankful for being able to getting a tour every now and then. Kind regards from Denmark
