Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots is my version of Ain't It Fun. I loved the song as a kid but when I grew up, the lyrics became relatable and actually hit pretty hard

I went to a graduation toast a couple days ago, and at one point, they played Hey Ya on the radio. I laughed to myself, thinking how hilarious that even now, people still play a song about a failing relationship at a happy event solely because it sounds happy.

Andre 3000 really was right when he said "Y'all don't wanna hear me, you just wanna dance."

I can't think of one kikuo Song with a happy meaning

Johnny Johnny Johnny by underscores the song sounds so happy but legitimately made me do a double tap when I first heard it.

Chandelier by SIA is genuinely one of the best depictions of addiction in song form. It's a shame many chalk it up to a night club song

"When you're happy, you enjoy the music, but when you're sad, you understand the lyrics."

This is more on the side of a sad backstory, but the song Ruru’s suicide show on a livestream is REALLY dark in both meaning and backstory/s
(Also it was made by the same group who made My War)

I'm not sure if you've already talked about it but Ruru's suicide show is so depressing, man
Even though it does have a bit of an upbeat tune, it's obvious that it's not your typical happy jpop song with how the singer is screeching on the vocals from time to time

And it's based on a real tragedy too which makes it so hard to listen to this because there's just almost no way to listen to it on the background once you know the story behind it

My favorite song was Stressed Out and Hey Ya when I was little. I knew the lyrics but didn’t really think about them. But now I’m older and I understand. I feel like songs like that you’ve listened will hit when you understand them truly mentally.

Zombie by the Cranberries. It means a lot to me because it is a protest song about a bombing in my town of Warrington, where two innocent boys died. The lyrics are truly depressing, including,"Another head hangs lowly, Child is slowly taken," and,"With their tanks and their bombs, and their bombs and their guns."
It's also a catchy song that I hear at parties. Seriously, I recommend you listen to it, and I mean LISTEN.

You should do sad sounding songs that are actually really whimsical

Kikuo is definitely like that. The songs are always bangers, just... don't read the lyrics.

Andre 3k once again, proving that he is one of the best writers of the past 300 years

5:33 VOCALOID FANS WE WON 🔥🔥🔥

1:38 HOLY REFERENCEEEEEEE MY MAN MIGHT BE THE G.O.A.T. OF YT!!!!! Holllyyyyyyy

Gomme Gomme terrifies me to my core to the point that the art scares me when I see one pixel, doesn’t help I like dissecting abstract art

3:21 this video doesn't get enough recognition, everybody talks aboutthe J Cole one & the "They didn't fit in" but this one truly encapsulates everything we should be questioning as this new generation imo

It yall have ever heard ordinary life then you would know dark songs

Its basically about having sutch high expectations on you that you become suicidal (or somthing like that.)

The real cliche here would have been putting Pumped Up Kicks on your list, as that has become a lot more obvious to people in recent years, and the lyrics aren’t even trying to hide it in any creative way, it’s just straight up.
Semi-Charmed Life is also pretty obvious, but more understandable to miss, with radio versions censoring Crystal Meth, and the vocals for most of the song being sung quickly and ever-so-slightly slurred.

Yeah, so as the guy who kept requesting vocaloid (or one of them) Gommene Gommene is the TIP of the iceberg. There are various others by the same maker (Kikuo) Aishite is another one, along with mesmerizer and The Medical Anomaly
