I arrived in Bali and stayed in Legian, one of the island’s most well known tourist areas, deciding to explore it on foot. This walking vlog captures a raw first impression of Legian, including the streets, canal areas, surrounding neighbourhoods, and the general atmosphere you encounter when walking around the area.

In this video, I walk through Legian, Bali, showing what the area is really like beyond the beach resorts and travel brochures. From rubbish filled waterways to persistent street hassling, this is an honest look at a side of Bali that many visitors experience but rarely see shown.

Hang out in back alleys, peek into peoples villas and worry about the wrong things / people.

Have a nice breakfast - walk the beach - get a massage -
Swim - have a few beers with dinner REPEAT

Fixed price shops are the way to go.
Taxi taxi or you say is Julan Julan( means walking) they leave you alone.
26:12 This is one of the most beautiful homes& of Royal heritage family in Legian. Such a shame you didn’t get a chance to talk to Agung. You just have to switch off to all the outside noise and venture East /West& north Bali .

It used to be beautiful, calm, quiet and very spiritual. Just rice fields, Hindu offerings and amazing smells. It was very peaceful in the 90s

It may not be everyone's cup of tea Scott but there is a LOT more to Bali than just Legian & Kuta. If you ever go back, avoid the wet season and try areas like Seminyak AND Sunur. There are also much nicer places further north.

Tried Thailand, felt exactly how you feel about Bali.
maybe educate yourself first though! you can't even pronounce the area's right.

Nice video to watch. I've been to Bali six times. Not a massive fan of it. My wife would like to go back in May this year. I did get sick the last time there just before covid wasn't bali belly. But was just food poisoning but it was good enough to knock me off my feet for 2 full days plus I was a little bit rough around the edges for another 3 days on top of that. I don't understand why people buy stuff in Bali It's all rubbish. My biggest turn off returning to Bali, is as you said they want you to buy everything, then get upset when you don't buy. And I dislike people coming up to me on the beach, when I'm laying down having a beer. Then saying would I want to buy a watch. Would I want to buy a hat? Would I like a massage? And in the meantime, I'm already wearing a $800 watch. I'm already wearing a $50 cap. But each to their own. I always find it very strange if you walk as a single man, the comments you get from the sellers and what they want to sell you!!! I tell my wife when we catch up at a bar and she's like that didn't happen. I said it happens every time I walk by myself. Haha take care. Oh by the way, the movie you're talking about is the beach that was in Thailand. The book was so good. The film was average. Personally me and my mate just sitt in three or four bars all day while the girls do whatever they want to do for 7 days. The best part about flying back home. We always stop off in Darwin for three nights. If you've never been there, it's like going to a town from the 1980s but it's civilised
