Twelve suburbs in Townsville, Queensland. Twelve services that left. Not one of them was ever announced as a permanent closure.

This video works through dated decisions by named organisations, in documents almost nobody read. It covers the amalgamation of Townsville City Council and Thuringowa City Council under Queensland local government reform in 2008, the departure of the NRL's North Queensland Cowboys from Willows Sports Complex (later 1300SMILES Stadium) in Kirwan after 25 seasons, the St. George Bank branch closure in Aitkenvale documented in a federal Senate inquiry into regional banking, and the TAFE Queensland trades campus on Fulham Road in Gulliver, now being demolished by Economic Development Queensland for a residential estate.

It covers Blue Care's Pallarenda Garden Settlement closing in 2016 under UnitingCare, a primary school in Stuart that opened in 1891 and closed in 2013 after a single ministerial announcement, and the consolidation of specialist education settings across Mundingburra and Aitkenvale into a single centre. It covers Reef HQ, the largest living coral reef aquarium in the world, closed on the Townsville CBD waterfront since February 2021, still without a confirmed rebuild timeline despite a 100 million dollar Commonwealth commitment. It covers Townsville General Hospital leaving North Ward for the Douglas campus in 2001, and the Mater renal unit that moved from Hyde Park to Pimlico with one night between the old address and the new one.

Every closure in this video was on a public record before it happened. None of it was published as a loss.
