Mine is from sharp and the battery still working perfectly,what most people doesnt know is that some of those small machines can record in 24 bits and  sound quality is much superior than most player and cell phone that we have today  ,only people that has listening to an MD player knows that sound quality is amazing! ! !

I have two MiniDisc portables, but my N 10 is by far my favourite, and it still works like a dream.

Thanks so much man! I just got an N10 and it's making exactly the same noise and now I can't wait to fix it! :) I have sewing machine oil, which hopefully will do the trick. 👍

Am only 00:42sec in the video and had to slam the thumbs up button when i saw Kingdom of Desire appear on the screen!!! Jake to the Bone on Minidisc! Absolute thumbs up

Thanks, I’ve got an N10 that makes the same noise, now I can fix it!

좋은 교훈입니다.. 무조건 추천!!! ^^;;

Great repair guide. Thanks a lot! 😉

I have the same device, and did the same battery work - and had the same problem you identified around 3:00 - it "closed" and does play but too much pressure against the lid - and while the new battery lasts much longer than OEM, it still feels a little too hackey... I will continue the hunt for a better-fitting battery.

But I love this device!  It was the high point of aesthetic/human-centered design for portable MD.  The MZ-N10 is probably my favorite player for listening, but the MZ-N707 has given me the most solid performance and I like the AA battery support for future-proofing.

Ultimately for NetMD recording, I bought a MDS-S500 and have it running through my office bookshelf system and via USB into a macbook.  Beautiful performance - the S500 was sold as-is but when it arrived it was mint condition, the remote and wires still in the original bags!  Not sure the owner knew what they had.

Seriously, it has a mini flywheel inside??? I can't believe the size of it. Piece of art. By the way, if you don't have grease or special lubrication oil, you can use a tiny amount of transparent...lip balm. Cheers!

Hi, happy to found your video, my mz-e10 suffered from the same problem, and I did the same procedure of lubrication of the laser assembly, only to find that the noise was still present, after some thought I put a drop of lubricant without disassembling the motor as you did, and now the noise is gone, also I found a replacement battery with the original connector from AliExpress, let me know if you what the link. thanks!

What’s the song in the background? It’s stuck in my head now 😅

How is the oil repair holding up? No more issues? Perhaps this is a good preventive maintenance plan for all MZ-N10

Hi
That USB  lead is very rare had to find and expensive 'sonicstage is the software you need  'to run it you must have Windows XP ' but there is Web minidisc which is must easily to transfer music to the md player/ recorder.

Hi!  i have a sony MZ-N707, that i was buyed for usd 10 with no read , i clean the optical unit, include internal lenses, with a self made earcotton (i put a cotton around a rigid coper computer network cable), and works! I have another one, with display broken and optical unit competely destroyed (sony MZ-R500), where cai i foun this optical units for sale?

I clicked to listen to you, not you and some absolutely unnecessary background music. Why do you Youtubers do that? Would you do that to someone in person - turn on music and then talk to them? No you wouldn’t because it would be rude and inconsiderate.

WHERE CAN I FIND A USB CABLE FOR THIS MODEL CAN ANY ONE HELP?
