I was invited to Pilatus in Switzerland to fly their advanced PC-21 trainer – the aircraft air forces around the world use to train the next generation of fighter pilots. Praised for handling almost identically to jets like the F/A-18, the PC-21 packs advanced embedded simulation right into the cockpit.

Join me and instructor Patrick for a one-of-a-kind flight through the Swiss Alps: takeoff over the lake, aerobatics including loops and stall turns, a simulated loft attack on a bridge, an air-to-air missile engagement, and a hand-flown approach and landing – all with the stunning glaciers and 12,000ft peaks as our backdrop.

This is one of my favorite real-life flights I've filmed for the channel. Come along for the ride!

(Note: because parts of the PC-21 are export controlled, I could only fly with the head-up display turned off – but the tactical systems were still available on the head-down displays.)
