Dear friends! We invite you to Deconstruction LIVE in April. Volgograd, Astrakhan, Novosibirsk, and Tomsk. Tickets are available at: https://deconstruction.live/?utm_sour...

Klim Zhukov and Kristina Egorova analyze Ridley Scott's film "Gladiator II" (2024) from a historical perspective. The action unfolds years after the events of the first film. Commodus's nephew, Lucius, renounces his imperial title and flees home. His relatives, the brothers Caracalla and Geta, seize power. Lucius hides from the Romans in North Africa and fights the imperial army until he is captured by General Marcus Accius. The young man becomes a gladiator in the Colosseum, like Maximus, his childhood hero. Lucius trains diligently and becomes a subordinate to the businessman Macrinus, who trades weapons and resources with the rulers of Rome. Macrinus plots to seize power for himself, while Lucius prepares to take revenge on Marcus Accius.
