Kerry shooting first is how you know she's from Gotham

0:22 Captain Midnight can't pronounce "Penguin" confirmed lol.

I've never seen a superhero that can fly use a rental car so much

Letting Hal’s murderer go, getting a power battery from Sinestro, challenging Guy for Earth.

Are we sure John isn’t going to become Parallax?

It wasn't a superhero series disguised as a neo-western

It was a neo-western disguised as a superhero series

Even though she knew he had the ring, drawing and shooting at Hal was absolutely a red flag that indicates she would shoot him in the face during an emotional panic

Hal’s ring was constantly under 5% when he needed it because the other 95% was used by Supergirl.
(Metaphor for the budget).

They gave us the perfect Hal, just to take him away

There are a couple more things that bothered me:
- The fact that John's parents get away with being COMPLETE PSYCHOPATHS.
- That unnecesary waitress subplot that gets absolutely nowhere.
- It's never quite clear what the Manhunters are, or what powers they have. For all the show let us know, they are (supposedly) verry, very powerful beings, but they seem to rely completely in tech, and also can be killed with a single bullet.
- The final episode has ZERO action sequences. On a superhero show.

Well, there's maybe a couple more, but you get the idea.

Green Lantern fridge reversal is a nice touch to balance things. Then all of the VFX bucks went into HotD.

5:48 That's not true. Hal gets out of jail in 2026 and also dies in 2026, which means Hal was only in Rushvile for a maximum of several months. Definitely not years.

I'm old enough that Kyle Chandler, to me, is the guy from Early Edition.

I even have vague memories of him from Homefront.

Is everyone aware that HBO and DC shuffled the order of the episodes after shooting? Originally the 2016 and 2026 storylines were going to build up together, with the big Lights Out action climax answering the 2016 “who is the Manhunter” mystery before the chiller finale answers the “who killed Hal” mystery, with the extra “there’s another Manhunter” twist. Would have made such a better show.

Hal just needs to show up and say “you fell for that? Let’s go, junior.” And we’ll act like everything is fine.

My biggest concern going forward is that Kyle Chandler's Hal Jordan is by far the most interesting Green Lantern in the current DC Universe. John is played well and is good in his own way, but just isn't compelling enough to front a show on his own. Guy Gardner seems more like comic relief. So it worries me that the most interesting of the three is dead.

if only there was a cat that delivers a newspaper from the next day then this could have all bean avoided.

Sometimes I think when a writer has a specific ending in mind, they can risk missing or ignoring elements written along the way that conflict with it. They wanted a somber noir ending where John makes a hard moral choice and gets a win on his own terms, but they didn’t consider the implications of what that would mean for everything around him. John cannot choose to reject a path built on Hal’s downfall just to make choices that have that outcome anyway. I still like John in this show, but the scene where he comes home to his family having done exactly what he was groomed for had a bitter taste I don’t know if the show meant for it to have.

Anybody that knows Tom King as a comics writer, knew as an executive producer suicide and depression were on the menu.

This one is so tough for me. My gut says 9/10 season. I was locked in every week, and loved talking about it week to week. I just found myself having sooooo many issues by the end. And I’m not even one of those people who needed more “green lantern” stuff like constructs or more space travel etc,..I just thought once we knew all the answers, they weren’t all that satisfying
