When Justin was telling Bryce what to do, I love that he didn't look at him until he asked Bryce if he understood. He didn't look at Bryce. He focused on Clay, on his brother because his pain, his safety was more important than Bryce. I love that.

Writers had some fuck ups after season 1 (not including showing Hannah slit her wrists which was probably the biggest fuck up which was in season 1), but one thing they always got right was Clay and Justin's relationship. Really heartwarming and tragic.
