Pt. Balgandharva and Master Krishnarao Phulambrikar were students of Bhaskarbuwa Bhakle. It is said that they both received different tuitions, Master Krishnarao was devoted to core classical music khayal gayan while Balgandharva was dedicated to the Marathi Natyasangeet and light ICM. Master Krishna used to say I've also taught Rajhans to some extent which is reflected in this recording (you might have heard the opposite). I have one more long recording of Raag Abhogi which I'll share later.

You might have heard these renditions from Pt. D V Paluskar or Kishori Amonkar, there is also a video of Nazakat and Salamat rendering Kaun gat; I personally never expected this from Pt. Narayanrao Rajhans.

Great Artist and Great Recording very very grateful to Pt. Suresh Achrekar for this rare gem. Very few khayals of Balgandharva are ever recorded.
