I remember going to the Millitary Drive Chuck E Cheese location when I was little. I was just looking at the animatronics back then thinking, "These are the coolest things ever."
Really good video, lost media is the most interesting thing about the history of CEC/PTT. Both companies have a bad track record of not documentation things. Most people don't really discuss these things in the lost media community that much.
I believe Dr. Dux and DJ Duck were just names that people nicknamed him before the discovery of the newspaper article, as Dr. Quack seems to be his official name given by CEC (because why would the news be inaccurate). It's gonna take some getting used to because Quack's had so many nicknames for a decade or so.
If there’s a piece of CEC lost media that I hope gets found, it would be more pizza time theater commercials.
I would love to see more of the other early articulated character costumes, as well as commercials promoting specific store openings (like the KY locations)
So from watching back on the Pizza Time topic about Orwell, according to Paul Liden was that Uncle Pappy was tested at the Richardson, TX area so maybe it was just only one was being tested out
Great video once again atleast recently we found lake forest footage and some audio clips from duncan brannans now deleted podcast he did over covid and who knows what else we could eventually find
I good chunk of the CEC branded games are lost media lol. Btw i heard Midway made an exclusive version of Hydro Thunder for CEC back in 1998 it featured chuck on the side, and on the marquee it said “Chuck E’s Hydro Thunder” aswell as renders of the CEC gang in the game. I found an article about it on sime forums but i can’t find the post again. Theres a good search for ya!
I feel like showtapes are the best thing. With a showtape and the power of speculation, animatronics can be recreated. I need to hear some more showtapes from the 70s, like Helen and Foxy.
