Can't wait to listen to a stranger on the internet glaze my favorite movie for 20 minutes 😊

The fact that you showed the scene where he’s walking in the field leaving the village shows the true love you have for the spirit of the film. When that score hits right there… The Legend of Ashitaka!  😊😊

i have been watching this movie everytime i used to feel lonely, everytime i have big changes coming up, everytime i'm upset, etc.
it just makes me feel that undescribable feeling of sorrow yet making me feel hopeful.
it grounds me and i can look back at the last time i watched it and how i felt then.
life keeps going on but i know whenever i feel like it i can go back and be that little boy in front of an old school tv and just be amazed and in awe of the storytelling and breathtaking visuals miyazaki layed bare for us to witness.

really well made video and great to hear, miyazaki still has the same impact around the globe, that he had on me nearly 20 years ago.

I was part of this games music “Irish video game orchestra”.

What got me to tears was hearing Space Lion from Cowboy Bebop at the end. 😭🥰

my favorite ghibli film! can’t wait to watch this

This is the best Ghibli movie and I will die on this hill

Saw this as a kid and it still amazes me.

This might just be one of the best Princess Mononoke review videos I've ever seen! It's one of my favourite Ghibli movies and I've been watching it since I was a child, and though you didn't say anything that I hadn't heard before in some capacity, the way you presented it with the gorgeous editing of all the clips and the beautiful music in the background to further highlight your incredible script was pure art in it's most basic form. Thank you so much for making this video, I'll definitely be subscribing!

My favorite film. Saw it in the Oriental in Milwaukee on its first US run in 1999. For years, this was the example I’d use to get them to love anime.

It’s a really grounding movie. It brings you down to Earth.

This is my favourite animated film 🙌

Personally, it’s better than anything Disney, Sony, illumination, Pixar, dreamworks, etc… ever made imo

Amazing analysis of a masterpiece - well done Mugen!!

Well done analysis of my favourite Ghibli movie ^^

Thank you for doing this in depth review. I first saw the movie. Princess Mononoke on Cable light '97. The movie brought tears to my eyes that I did not understand and now looking at your review it still brings tears to my eyes but now with understanding. Thank you. Have a great day/night

RIP Miwa Akihiro-san

Aww yea, just started a 12hr shift and we get another Mugen banger. Keep going bro, love the videos!

One thing I appreciate about PM is its a message that we can strive for but can rarely achieve. Even  Miazaki I imagine falls short of the messages of this movie. Even you at one point had a jab in this video at the rage bait chuds. I guess I'm just saying that its what we are and we all fall short of it. Ashitaka in the film is a saint- I mean that in the sense that most people cannot see unclouded. And Right now in this current era, I don't blame anyone that falls short. Bc even if you manage to achieve that POV in the face of another, there is no guarantee that they will or even want to... and it is likely they don't want to. Ashitaka knows this and that is why when he has to, he can be tough and strong.

just saw ur vid on my fav anime of all time, FLCL, and even tho i have a little bit different take on certain chars and aspects your content was the best video essay ive seen on it. would luv to see something from you on Ninja Scroll, The Devil is a Part-timer, or After the Rain three distinctly diff genres. it's clear you put a lot of work into your videos and I was like man how long did it take to clip all those perfect cuts in the FLCL one. Im sure aill watch all of your content eventually

Jigo, the monk, is the film's antagonist/villain.

He uses Eboshi to kill the God of the Forest on behalf of the Emperor (to get paid).

In doing so, Iron Town is left to defend itself with its women & the lepers against Lord Asano's men.

Iron Town's men are left to fight against the boars, which Jigo's men drop bombs upon, with no concern for the collateral damage against the men of Iron Town.

Jigo's men also manipulate the boars into their mindless attack by disguising themselves among their ranks.

Jigo is resistant to return the God of the Forest's head until literally the last minute, despite everything around being destroyed as it searches for it's head.

Jigo, at the end of it all, doesn't pay a cost for his actions.
