I was here for that, until i realized what I want is to understand why this happened in the first place. Why lure me in with all the promises, and promising me this absolute amazing future with her. Just for things to start going backwards, making me very anxious... not knowing all this information back then, I do everything wrong.... and lost her in this processπ€ I have cut all communication with her on everything but it still hurts man π
Actually I'm here because I'm a fearful avoidant, female happily married and trying to unpack my childhood issues. Unfortunately there isn't much information available except for dating advice. I think this must be describing dismissive avoidants because this is not me at all.
Im the Champion of Avoidants. I've been with one for over 26 years. We're on our 6th break up now. They aren't monsters. They are hurt inside and they run away when they get overwhelmed like little children.. Now is it easy? Hell No. most of us are Fearful avoidants and we trigger TF Out of them. It's a 2 way street. Work on your own security and set boundaries. ultimately you will trigger them less and they will Shutdown less. We're all Fu*cked up from our childhood. Let's not demonize them. They're people too who need love and connection
I said my feeling aren't a game and I dont let people play me anymore and blocked him. Then after he sees me in public months later he goes and works at my vape shop. Pulled in and pulled out so fast my boundaries gave him whiplash π he's still trying to make me do the emotional work and confuse me with mixed signals. Like just send a message already and be real π
Wellthis took a few awkward turns for me, who just wants to learn about avoidants and what i can do before i get closer to maintain a healthy relationship. That ending was cringing me the hell out but good video lmao
I hate how so many people view avoidants as horrible and not worth dating. My fiance is an amazing man. Our couple's therapist said we were the healthiest couple she's ever seen because we go above and beyond to communicate and repair and take each other's viewpoints into consideration. He is reading the book attached and genuinely going to try to become securely attached. Your videos have helped me understand how his brain is wired. I am anxiously attached to the extreme and my actions pushed him to be even more avoidant. I have been implementing the tips you have given and he has been so loving and we have made such progress.
There is a big difference between a good hearted person who is avoidantly attached based on how they grew up and a narcissist. Not all avoidants are narcissists and not willing to work on themselves. Thank you for all the info as always. Avoidants who are *mature and *loving partners deserve love too.
